Kingmaker Rupert Murdoch Hosted Ron DeSantis at His California Ranch and Told Him: ‘Fox News Will Support Your Bid for President in 2024’

Fox Corp boss, Rupert Murdoch has officially taken a side in the Republican race leading up to the 2024 National elections, and this time he is backing Ron DeSantis.

According to Vanity Fair, the conservative news mogul invited the Florida Governor to his Vineyard in Bel Air, California for dinner in 2020 and assured him that Fox would support his potential presidential run in 2024.

Earlier this year, signs of this sentiment became more apparent as Fox implemented a soft ban on Trump and began featuring DeSantis more frequently.

Additionally, during this time, the Dominion lawsuit loomed over the news corporation, prompting it to distance itself from the election controversy and thus steer clear of Trump.

Murdoch even expressed regret, stating that he would have preferred his anchors to be more assertive in denouncing Trump's election conspiracies that defined his campaigns. He was also quoted saying, "I would have liked us to be stronger in denouncing it in hindsight," per the Independent.

As the situation unfolded, Knewz reported allegations of higher-ups within the company trying to shift the blame for the election denial onto its anchors. A senior producer claimed that the company was scapegoating her and her female colleagues, including Maria Bartiromo.

Perhaps the most significant move by Fox to close the door on Trump and his 2020 election denial scandal came with the dismissal of Tucker Carlson and the eyewatering settlement reached with Dominion.

On Trump's side, his decision to participate in CNN's Town Hall event, despite their previous antagonistic relationship, emphasized his falling out with Murdoch.

However, despite the influence of the heavyweight News empire and its support of DeSantis, Trump remains the favorite among Republicans as seen in recent polls by Fox News and Gallup.

"Really? You're going to believe that VANITY FAIR is going to get this scoop?"

I never said I believed it. That's your assumption. I read the article, and it mentioned the original article was in Vanity Fair, and that other news sites picked it up. It's called searching for an original source, which is what you basically asked for, since you thought it was MSN.

Just when you thought FNC couldn’t screw up anything worse than firing Tucker, they do this.

Did Ginsburg ever vote to rein in Roe v. Wade? No. Of course not.

She voted to overturn a federal ban on late-term abortions in “Gonzales v. Carhart.
https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/550/124/#tab-opinion-1962402

And she voted to strike down restrictions passed by the Texas legislature in “Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstet”.

As far as Trump being furious about the Hobb’s decision, what can I say? That’s demonstratively false.

But lying is just a form of entertainment for you, so there’s nothing unexpected here.

Do you honestly think DeSantis or another Republican politician is “Consercative” in the way you claim they are or wish they are? These politicians are all part of the same club/team as the Democrats. Trump was never part of this political club which is why the club wanted hom hone. No free thinkers in DC and no one committed or free to implement the Conservstive policies you want.

Hillary is also not in jail, despite Trump’s “lock her up” mantra during the 2016 campaign, which was forgotten all about once he won.

My good FRiend, "you're" was meant in a broad sense, not directly at you.

Maybe Murdoch met with DeSantis.

Maybe he didn't.

But what happened to trust and verify? Reason? The MSM isn't a friend of conservatives?

I noticed recently, that FReepers are posting more and more sensational stories with breathtaking headlines from low information "conservative" website. When you scratch just a little (meaning, read the story...) it's fake.

Just yesterday, we got this whopper - Kerry Says US Farm Confiscations Not Off the Table. Sounds bad, right? It would be, if he said it. Except Kerry never said it. Fooled almost 200 FReepers.

I'll go one step further...these agitprop headlines are probably written by Jar Shakers so the Trump and DeSantis ants tear each other to pieces, so we won't ask the ONE question that matters: How are you going to flip 38+ electoral votes?

We NEED Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona or some combo theirin.

And this is against the backdrop of mail-in voting, which isn't going away.

If neither of these guys can tell us how the f he will flip these EC votes, he don't deserve the nomination.

Parenthetically, conservatives who lap up this stupid reporting and don't perform basic due diligence, are pawns of the left.

Nick doing what he always does. Confusing the issue with comments like -

“Where were you when Trump nominated two Kennedy clerks to the Supreme Court.”

Where he hopes we’ll all accept his false inference that clerking for Anthony Kennedy over-rides years of jurisprudence. Don’t look at their record but focus on the fact that they clerked for Anthony Kennedy.

Then we have -
“You cheered the Clinton takeover of the GOP.”

A comment so obviously disconnected with the truth that it’s not even worth the effort to refute.

How is anyone ok with 76 million+ Trump voters being screwed out of their votes, and then put through 3, going on 4, years of pure hell, under the vote fraud coup installed CCP puppet?

(And Faux news was also directly involved in the coup, through calling Arizona early, and then actively gaslighting and censoring people since that time.)

THE PEOPLE VOTED FOR TRUMP.

TRUMP IS THE RIGHTFUL LEADER OF THIS NATION.

Anyone who thinks that what happened in the 2020 election, is ok, is against the people, against the Constitution and against America.

They are just as treasonous as the radical left.

Trump won 2020 and should be the nominee for 2024 period.

To say anything else is a LIE and they effing know it.

Thank you!

You made only one mistake: “Trump won 2020 and should be the nominee for 2024 period.”

Trump won in 2020 and should be inaugurated in January 2025. No 2024 election necessary.
