British-Trained Soldiers ‘Trounce’ Russian Military In Ukraine; UK-Led Europe ‘Leads’ The US With Operation Interflex
Eurasian Times ^ | 18/5/23 | Prakash Nanda

As Ukraine prepares for what is said to be the Spring Offensive against Russia, a debate has sprung up about why Europe’s contribution to the war is not getting due recognition as compared to that of the United States.

The debate is based on the age-old maxim that the quality manpower (in this case, the soldier’s quality and competence) is as important as quality weapons in fighting a war.

Accordingly, the point is being made that while the United States may have contributed more than half of the $160 billion in economic, humanitarian, and military aid that Ukraine has received since the outbreak of the war, Europe’s contribution is not as insignificant as has been perceived by many.

If Ukraine has defied the Russian might so far, it is also because of the quality and training of Ukrainian forces, a vital factor for which European powers in general and the United Kingdom, in particular, have played a significant role.

The importance of training Ukrainian soldiers has many dimensions, but three are particularly noteworthy.

None of the stories are credible. They’re all over the place, saying opposite things as if they are facts. It’s silly.

One step closer to World War III. Is anyone going to be surprised when Russia has their intelligence service target London or some other Western European capitol with a bomb or other terrorist activity in retaliation?

There are no “stories” here, just an outline of European and UK assistance to Ukraine. I read the entire article, and it seems pretty plausible to me.

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
“Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns!” he said.
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

I guess the UK is finally getting their do-over.

Many truths and many distortions in this article. No one can claim the Ukies are poor soldiers. They are some of the best fighters, but 6 weeks of training in England is ridiculous to state their western training will turn the tide.

There is more to war than the battle lines. Like Germany in WW2, they had the best soldiers, but their country was totally decimated. Much like Ukraine, which lies in tatters. Wake me up when Russia has been deenergized, depopulated, deindustrialized, and infrastructure lies in total ruins.

Facts are Ukraine has no path to victory. Vlad is not leaving the ethnic Russian provinces. Ukraine’s survival depends 100 percent on Western welfare. Bodes not well for them, for many reasons.

“They are some of the best fighters, but 6 weeks of training in England is ridiculous to state their western training will turn the tide.”

Actually, it is. If you already have good, experienced fighters, but in an antiquated Soviet-style of fighting, and you train them in a new style that is substantially more effective, especially against antiquated Soviet-style fighting, that will indeed “turn the tide”. If Ukraine had been depending on 100 percent Western welfare, by the time it got to Ukraine, the war would have been over with Russia the victor in a few weeks’ time, as Putin had expected.

Britain is a failed Racist Empire with a 4th rate military. It’s best if they mind their own business.

Are you asserting that Ukraine has NOT defied the Russians so far?!

You are obviously delusional.

and that little scenario would trigger NATO - putin may be evil but he’s not as stupid as some Westerners would like to believe.

A “racist empire” that fought for a hundred years on the high seas to end the slave trade, that voluntarily gave up its empire, and whose “4th-rate” military has been victorious in Iraq twice, as well as Afghanistan. Russia, for that matter, is truly a failed empire, the Soviet Union, which collapsed 32 years ago. Now Putin, a 20-years’ dictator of a government of, by and for the oligarchs, is invading yet another country that wants no part of it. Tell the failed emperor for whom you are shilling to withdraw his troops from Ukraine, stop stirring up trouble all over the world, and stop trying to revive the dead Russian imperial enterprise, and retire before he gets Romanov’d or Stalin’d. These sinister invasions of his are the business of the entire free world, including Britain.

Ukrainian troops are learning Combined Mobile Breach tactics which are totally beyond Russian commanders who rely solely on massed artillery.
