Los Angeles Dodgers cancel plans to honor ‘queer and trans nuns’ after uproar
NY Post ^ | 05/17/2023 | Lee Brown

The Los Angeles Dodgers have sparked outrage by going to bat for a radical group of “queer and trans nuns” accused of being “a blatantly perverted, sexual and disgusting anti-Catholic hate group.”

The baseball team announced earlier this month that it was honoring the local chapter of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence with its annual Community Hero Award at a Pride night next month.

The “nuns” — who have names like Sister T’aint A Virgin, Sister Porn Again and Sister Holly Lewya — were being awarded for supposedly “promoting human rights and respect for diversity and spiritual enlightenment.”

However, it quickly sparked official complaints from Catholics — including calls to flood the Dodgers’ phone lines with messages of outrage.

I can’t figure out why professional hockey became big supporters of homosexuality. I don’t know. Maybe they were wanting to bring in more Bud Light drinkers.

“Pay big money for a ticket? “

I took my son to a San Francisco Giants ball game a month ago.
$300 for a pair of decent seats close to the field on the third baseline.
$36 for ON-STREET parking. The “smart meters” jack rates up during special events. The nearby parking lots were $40-$50.
$75 for lunch at a decent restaurant.
$18 for one soft drink and a bottle of water. No beer, no food.
$25 for gasoline for driving to and from San Francisco.

$454 for ONE BASEBALL GAME!

That’s why I go to one game every ten years or so. It is utterly obscene. I live in the past and was expecting maybe a $250 day.

We used to really enjoy seeing the San Jose Giants farm club. Nice old-school venue, cheap tickets, good baseball, reasonably priced food, and closer to home. I wonder what their prices are now.

All sports. I long ago gave up on professional sports. I detest the interjection of any politics into what should be a fun activity. Add college sports. I was a season ticket holder and donor to USC football. But I gave up for many reasons. Interjection of woke politics being just one.

It’s too bad. I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s playing baseball ( I was no good), and being a passionate fan for decades thereafter. I was something I enjoyed. No more. Everything is political to libs, so count me out.

why do major companies, and sports teams, feel the need to pander to such people????

The woke left is a religion, so it needs its "heroes" and "saints."

but its a post-modern religion, so "heroes" and "saints" can change according to the whim of politics.

They also have classic arrogance and hubris. They believe in their own righteousness, and that they can define truth and morality. They live in self-referencing bubble - they do not know, or care (see above) if other points of view exist.

MLB and the players union are trying to kill off the “farm system” - minor leagues.

I doubt the Latinos who are huge Dodger supporters are going to like this.

“trying to kill off the “farm system””

I didn’t know that. Another looming disaster.

They’ll probably make all the farm clubs go radically woke first, then it’ll commit suicide.

Dear Protect: Be thankful you can blow that kind of money. Enjoyed many a game and concert in my younger days. You can’t blame the businesses if they can get away with it. Cheaper ways to have fun with your son. Minor league baseball-good.

49ers at Candlestick. Nosebleed season tickets were $250. The good seats never came available. I’d go to 2 games and give away the others. After 20 years they moved to Levis Stadium and there’s no way I’d want to compete with the Silicon Valley types.

Cal Memorial stadium. After renovation prices went way up. My buddy got gouged after 20 years of a losing program.

My daddy once said do not argue with someone who doesn’t want your money.

Just reading the first 5 lines of that article, which I cannot repeat for how blasphemous they are, I see grotesque sacrilege and insult of the Christian faith and all believers. If this were a Christian country the first to be prosecuted for hate speech would be blasphemers.
The very practice of Sodomy is hate speech against God and men at the very same time.
Sodomy is one of the sins that “cries out to heaven for God’s vengeance” per God’s word as taught authoritively by holy Mother Church.

To all Protestant believers -- Stop considering this as a Catholic-based issue. The Dodgers are honoring DEGENERATES.

These people are not nuns, they’re not even lesbians. They are a group of disgusting, degenerate drag performers. Some might find them amusing but it’s certainly not suitable for children. Thought baseball is supposed to be for the whole family.

Yes about Vin.

They’re not real nuns. It’s a San Francisco homosexual group. They think it’s satire.

I like baseball. We have a collegiate league team in my town and I can walk down the street or catch a live stream of the games. It isn’t like watching the big leaguers, but these kids aren’t being paid millions and millions of dollars either. Cheap tickets, cheap beer, a couple of hours of pleasant diversion, and no woke celebrations.

“It is the Delphi technique applied to a corporate group”

Good post.

I was recently looking for web discussions of the Delphi technique—could not find them—used to be a hot topic here years ago...

If you know of any please post.
