He did NOT do an outstanding job. He doesn’t need to win his base. He needs to win women and independents. He didn’t even try. If anything, he spit in their faces.
Winning the primary - which he may do - doesn’t achieve squat all unless he then wins the general. It was stupid. Made him feel good about himself and made his base happy, but that won’t WIN anything.
And without winning, nothing gets done. Except his strongest supporters get to FEEL good.

it back in the mail. We were fortunate to have a somewhat
normal process. They used central locations for surrounding
area in which people had access to for their specific county
and voting precinct.
