Lawrence Jones, who made history as the youngest black solo host of a program in cable news, is stepping in to fill ousted Tucker Carlson’s slot on Fox News next week. Jones, 30, who anchors “Lawrence Jones Cross Country” on Fox News on Saturday nights, will host in Carlson’s former 8 p.m. slot from Monday as the network continues with a rotating line-up of anchors. **** Jones, who worked in the Obama campaign when he was 15, reported live from Uvalde, Texas, after the mass shooting that killed 19 children and two adults, and has also covered the death of Tyre Nichols, the Idaho murders, nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd and the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on minority communities across the country.

Lawrence Jones is going nowhere in the Taking the Tucker Carlson spot. He will fail miserably!!! Actually, I like him...but the management of the Fox News Channel has been and really is lost at sea!!! To go, out the door immediately,..on FNC, is, Geraldo, Juan Williams, Neil Cavuto...like right now. Fox News Channel has slit it’s own TV throat...period!!! Very Sad, But 100% True!!!

This Jones guy once worked on an Obama campaign. Has Jones since denounced Obama? If so, he might be a real asset to the conservative cause.
But if he still thinks Obama is just great, then I hope his Fox show crashes and burns.
I just watched Al Jazirra for the first time on my Firestick. Put them on for a week. Nonstop drama/deaths. No pretty blonds wearing their makeup, just frumpy Brit reporters.
I left after 2016 after the way Megyn Kelly and Chris Wallace tag-teamed Trump in the “ debates”

Absolutely. I figured that out when Fox didn’t really take any hit after they brazenly participated in the Big Steal.
I’ve seen him many times on FNC. He has been reliably conservative and pleasant. I don’t think he has the personality to command a prime time audience, but perhaps he will surprise me. If I was clicking and saw him on the screen I would stop for a minute or two to see what he has to say.
Be on the lookout for Liz Cheney, Lindsey Graham and the return of Tulsi Gabbard in their lineup.

I love watching Fox. Dana Perino, Shannon Bream, Emily Compano, Kat Timpf and the rest. Sometimes I turn the sound on for Gutfeld.

Lawrence Jones seems like a good guy. He recently adopted a very cool dog, training for service support. As a journalist, he is good at obtaining the stories. Unfortunately, his on-air presentation is low key, somewhat snoozer. I am cheering for him to succeed in his craft.

My understanding of Lawrence Jones is that he’s right around 30 may be a little less in age. His mom got pregnant when she was like 15 or something and didn’t abort him. But his parents stay together somehow and his father was a preacher or is it a preacher. But I find him trying to hide his liberalism quite a bit. Seems like he should be a pro life conservative but I’m not sure that he is.
I never had cable TV for many years. Never saw any need for it until they started showing less and less sports on regular TV.
After I got divorced and got my own place, I got cable mainly for sports. That was 5 years ago. By that time, I had been getting all my political news from blogs, like this one for many, many years.
I admit that when Trump was president, I enjoyed watching Fox. Not because they were so pro Trump....they obviously weren’t. I was just enjoying the fact that Trump was president, and everybody had to deal with it, including Fox....who went through the motions of supporting him to a certain extent. They even had Lara Trump as a featured commentatator. Still, watching this stuff was just a mindless distraction to pass the time. They weren’t telling me anything I didn’t already know from reading my blogs.
But as we got closer and closer to the 2020 election, the knives for Trump at Fox got sharper and sharper.....from Tyrus to Brit Hume. So dumping Fox after the election was an easy decision.
Bottom line..... It’s really sad that so many people are so addicted to plopping themselves down on a sofa and watching political news, they will use any excuse to continue watching Fox. It’s like having an addiction to fast food......”that Brian Kilmeade, he really cares about American history”......”well I still like Jesse, Maria,and Judge Jeanine”.

I hate all the woke crap about sports, but I can block it out, because I know the players don’t care about it. I just like to see athletes competing at the highest level. But when it comes to political news, I don’t need to engage in such compromise.
