Governor DeSantis and the state of Florida have taken a stand by passing a hate crime bill sponsored by Republican State Representatives Mike Caruso and Randy Fine in the House and Republican Senator Alexis Calatayud in the Senate. Caruso and Fine joined the Governor in Israel to sign this historic legislation at the new Museum of Tolerance in Jerusalem.
The rise in antisemitism in Florida motivated Caruso to sponsor this legislation; it protects all Floridians, including those of the Jewish Faith, from all acts of religious and ethnic animus.
Caruso gave an impassioned speech on the House floor. Every member there that day, one hundred and fourteen members, cosponsored this bill in bipartisan unity. As of today, all 119 House members have cosponsored HB 269.

I get the idea but bills like this are dangerous. This will turn into Christians being threatened with jail time because they speak out against Trannies. This is how bills like this will get used eventually

This is the type of crap we’re tired of. Similar to signing a bill with like 30 pens so that everybody gets a pen. Ridiculous.

The only exception I'd make to that attitude is with certain crimes committed against people over the age of "X" (perhaps 65),certain crimes against people under the age of "Y" (perhaps 15) and certain crimes against the seriously disabled.
He is doing the I am not running but I am really running POTUS campaign and this was such an obvious action.

Just sign the bill at your desk. You don’t need to take a bill six thousand miles to sign it.
It’s actually very cool to do it in Israel where the world hates them. It’s a gesture of continued support. God knows they need it.
