As predicted.

There are two sets of laws in this country:

One for the rich, powerful and elite.

The second for the rest of us.

Who didn't see this coming?

The real surprise would be to see him in prison.

I think we all should allow Alec Baldwin and his family some privacy now. After all, Alec announced he would join forces with OJ Simpson and track down the real killers.

am no fan of Alec Baldwin, but the man did NOT commit a crime. He had no criminal intent. And it is perfectly reasonable for an actor to assume that a prop gun does not contain bullets in it, especially when there is a professional “armorer”—who is paid to make sure that props are safe.

Man slaughter is the unintentional killing of a human being, especially through negligence.

Baldwin was negligent in that he did not check the weapon in his possession was safe.

He repeatedly refused to attend firearm safety class.

Baldwin fits the dictionary definition of Man Slaughter or Negligent homicide.

You decide.

"I had no intent of driving drunk and killing someone officer, honest! I didn't even know I was drunk!"

Sorry, criminal intent doesn't matter. You kill someone, whether intentionally or not, and you're one of us "little people" out here in flyover country and you're going to jail.

I don’t want to hear anymore sh*t about gun control. It’s all a farce. Certain people can kill someone with a gun and it isn’t a big deal. I knew those New Mexican tacos and burritos were going to drop the ball on this. They are all star struck.

Next: prosecuting and persecuting those pundits or comedians that continue to make references, jokingly or otherwise, to Baldwin’s marksmanship.

What an an elegant legal opinion! Write more like that and Biden might nominate you to SCOTUS.

“Baldwin was negligent in that he did not check the weapon”

Except that was explicitly not his job. On a film set firearm safety is the legal responsibility of the armorer.

Consider this example:
* You buy a bottle of aspirin from CVS
* You give one to a friend
* It turns out CVS had sold you cyanide!
* Your friend dies

CVS has 100% of the legal responsibility in this case.

But he was more than an actor in this instance and had responsibilities far above those of an actor.

Additionally, it is not necessary to have criminal intent.

Many people have ben tried and convicted of negligent or involuntary manslaughter if they acted with a disregard for human life
while engaging in wanton or reckless behavior and the act or actions caused the death of a person.

“I am no fan of Alec Baldwin, but the man did NOT commit a crime. He had no criminal intent.”

Involuntary manslaughter is a crime and does not require intent.

If you or I did the same thing, we would do time in prison.

This is a grave miscarriage of justice. Baldwin will be back yapping his trap against conservatives and gun owners immediately. Sooner or later his pride will do him in.
