am no fan of Alec Baldwin, but the man did NOT commit a crime. He had no criminal intent. And it is perfectly reasonable for an actor to assume that a prop gun does not contain bullets in it, especially when there is a professional “armorer”—who is paid to make sure that props are safe.

Man slaughter is the unintentional killing of a human being, especially through negligence.

Baldwin was negligent in that he did not check the weapon in his possession was safe.

He repeatedly refused to attend firearm safety class.

Baldwin fits the dictionary definition of Man Slaughter or Negligent homicide.

You decide.

“Baldwin was negligent in that he did not check the weapon”

Except that was explicitly not his job. On a film set firearm safety is the legal responsibility of the armorer.

Consider this example:
* You buy a bottle of aspirin from CVS
* You give one to a friend
* It turns out CVS had sold you cyanide!
* Your friend dies

CVS has 100% of the legal responsibility in this case.
