CHICAGO - Hundreds of teenagers flooded into Downtown Chicago on Saturday night, smashing car windows, trying to get into Millennium Park, and prompting a major police response. At least one person in a car was attacked.

Shots were fired near the corner of Madison and Michigan, and FOX 32 Chicago decided that it was unsafe to keep our news crew on the scene

There lies part of the problem of identification. As long as folks think of these people as 'children' the public will give them a pass as they are too young to know better. A 16-17 year old standing over a body holding a 9mm with smoke spiraling from the barrel is hardly a 'child'. Call me jaded or callous, I was part of a generation that ended up having to shoot 'children' younger than these in Southeast Asia in the 60's to see them as bike riding, lollipop sucking 'children'.
