Trump demanded Pruitt’s resignation.

Really? Pruitt said he resigned because of the attacks on him and his family. He made no mention of Trump "demanding" that he resign.

Of course not. He was a team player until the end.

Whether people like Ron's prior positions/votes on the awful fed entitlements or not, they are at least based on the reality of a failing status.

Trump is a self-centered populist. If it was popular to cut entitlements, then he would favor it. It is not popular, so he does not. Today ALL he cares about is votes. What he would care about after 2024 is anybody's guess because MAGA is nebulous mush.

Trump loves BigGovt, BigPharma, swampy agencies and most bad things about the current federal government. He is a RINO, by definition. He only hates the parts of govt that negatively affect his own political career.

The BigGovt programs are unconstitutional, immoral and would be illegal if not deployed by the DC swamp beast.

As Free Republicans, we know the programs are wrong. And always have been. And we know SS is a Ponzi scheme. Folks are not wrong to want their money back which was stolen from them during their working years. But it is wrong and weak-minded to think it is somehow honorable to demand we continue as-is. In order for today's retirees to be compensated as promised, the govt has to steal more and more money from our kids.

It's not brave and certainly NOT America-loving in any original individual freedom sense to defend it. It is weak, selfish and flat out reality-denying to resist any change to it.

I understand the politics and the need to honor promises. I don't support hurting older folks forced into the awful SS program. An evil program this embedded will take a movement / wave type of election to address it properly with any amount of legislative success.

The Don's increasingly fluid MAGA jelly is not only NOT helpful in our long term efforts , it is now a new enemy-within impediment to greater freedom. BigDon loves him some BigGovt.

We would need actual Freedom-oriented leaders, a multi-level/multi-branch team effort based on principle and a cycle or two of time to work toward change this significant. We need to show the people what Freedom can do for them better than a shriveling and souring federal tit.

A long-term campaign with a catchy title: The You Decide / Bigger Paycheck / Retire Well plan or some such.

Including the absolute promise anybody forced into SS already can choose to get exactly what they were promised. But going forward also allowing folks to choose freedom from it. And imposing reality on those who newly choose the tit - meaning acknowledgement it will change based on avg lifespan, etc. Regardless what that means in terms for funding it, since today's funding is already a fraud-based plan. Plus legislation clearing the way for states to have competing programs if they see fit.

Newt had lots of plans which tended to be overly complex like Paul Ryan plans. But he was right on the concept that if you offer Freedom and other better-than-SS options, then it would wither on the vine naturally instead of needing to be pulled out from under the victims forced into it all their lives.

An irony in this is that the last serious attempt to fix it came from a young TEA party favorite named Paul Ryan.

Ryan started out very Trump-like.

Trump is now very Ryan-like.

DC is a disease. They both now carry it.

So then you made it up when you said that Trump demanded that he resign.

I used search correctly.

As I said, you simply made up your original comment.

And with your above "stupid" comment, you're also an a$$.

The S/S and Medicare deficit will ultimately be solved by raising payroll taxes. Republicans and Democrats will both support it.

none of this matters , nor who is a the top of the tix unless we get ahaed of the vote by mail,VBM, a month of voting for them, one day for us. VBM at best is legal cheating that opens the door for illegal voting -see 2000 mules-if we are not ahead of this and doing the same, we lose-doesnt’ matter if it is Trump or DeSantis -we will lose unless we master VBM and so far Trump hasn’t done much on this

The American Institute for Economic Research (AIER.org) has an article entitled “A Way Out”, which provides a path to transition away from the Social Security program while protecting current retirees and those approaching retirement. It would involve younger people (approximately 40 and under) to fund their own retirement utilizing the 15.3% (7.65% from themselves and 7.65% from their employers) currently stolen from them by SS. This transition would take the better part of 90 years however, it’s taken us this long to get into this mess. At the end, the government would not be involved at all.

Me too. Like on Truth Social or Gab. I don’t know why FR doesn’t have that option but that’s ok...at least we still have free speech on here.

“The American Institute for Economic Research”

I’ve not read their plan but will check it out later. Thanks.
