Local use of natural gas is greener than the converting gas energy to electricity, transmit it down lossy electrical lines, and reconverting to heat.
ICE cars, lights, etc., are very inefficient because they lose much energy as heat. That’s a good thing when you’re producing,... oh.... heat? Until the day when the grid is 80% greener than it is, this is simply bad for the environment.
