Every floating holiday and vacation day benefit has just been eliminated in Illinois.

Exactly right. One more reason to leave.

Forcing private companies to adopt the government employees' practices:

Don't show up for work, whenever you feel like it, and still get paid (in government, more than half the people can stay home, and now work product is impacted or missed.)

Almost on a par with a "Government Shutdown", where government employees ALL get back pay, when the "crisis" ends.

Remember how all State, County, City, and Federal employees that were "Non-Essential" stayed home during the Pandemic, and all lived on the taxpayers' dime, losing NO PAY or benefits?

Effectively a 2.6% (40/39) pay increase.

Fedgov workers get 26 days of vacation (PTO), 13 days of sick leave, and 11 Federal holidays paid day off.

10 weeks a year paid time off.

The end goal for all ‘workers’.

That's the "Official" rules, but the bulk of the employees of that government don't produce ANYTHING of value, or anything at all, and merely take up space on the Taxpayer's dime........period.

I’ve never worked a job where I had to give a reason for using vacation/personal time, or comp time. In fact, I think it would be very unusual for an employer to demand a reason for taking time off that was due an employee.

I worked at an organization that had generous sick leave and vacation policies. Just because you have time on the books doesn't mean they have to grant you leave on the spot. If I was going to take a lengthy vacation I would notify my bosses several months in advance.

Let me see if I got this right. If you own and operate a business in Illinois then you don’t get to set your own personnel policies. Your hard work, your investment doesn’t matter.

That should work out just great.

The employers shouldn’t have to do this just to get Dung Beetles votes. Make the Prickster and his turd rollers pay for this leave.

My reason for paid leave..”Dear boss, need 40 hours off. Going to the range to blow off a couple thousand rounds at human sized targets. Hope that is OK with you and the HR department”.

LOL! Turn the lights out on that State. The state of unfunded pensions and high debt.

Do they really think that anyone and everyone will not abuse such law?
