Rep. Jim Jordan, a Republican from Ohio, caused a stir on Twitter Friday night after he said Democrats in Washington, D.C., were "ridiculous" to support a decision allowing non-citizens the opportunity to vote.
"Only Americans should vote in American elections," said Jordan, prompting backlash.
The Republican’s tweet concerned House Joint Resolution 24, or the "Disapproving the action of the District of Columbia Council in approving the Local Resident Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2022," which passed the House of Representatives on Thursday.
The resolution seeks to overturn a bill that passed the D.C. Council in October, which opened the local voting process to immigrants.

Opening up voting and elections to non-citizens=outside interference into our national elections. Didn’t the Democrats impeach Trump over this accusing him of Russian interference? You have to ask yourself, what is wrong with the Democrat party? Mental retardation?

Older civilizations had varying levels of citizenship. We should be able to accommodate mass immigration in a manner that does not jeopardize national sovereignty and security. Give them tasks such as cleaning the streets. Let them earn the more-robust aspects of being a full citizen, like voting. But if you are here to vote largesse for yourself, you should not be allowed to vote.
Immigrants can be 3/5 of a vote, but they have to be slaves.

Respectfully to Rep. Jordan, if he was reading Free Republic, then he would be able to argue the following MAJOR (imo) constitutional problem with undocumented Democrats voting in federal elections.

Even if so-called House "MAGA Republicans" were still minority, all that they needed to do to effectively exercise majority power to kill the unconstitutional (imo) bill giving DC illegals the power to vote is to publicly point out the following excerpt from the post-Civil War congressional record.
Although the excerpt was intended for renegade states giving illegals the power to vote to try to destabilize the Union by effectively nullifying the Constitution's "uniform Rule of Naturalization Clause," it applies as well (imo) to the Democratic-pirated federal government trying to use illegals to destroy the constitutional republic imo.

All MAGA patriots need to wake up their RINO federal and state lawmakers by making the following clear to them.
If they don’t publicly support either a resolution, or a Constitutional Convention, to effectively "secede" ALL the states from the unconstitutionally big federal government by amending the Constitution to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments (16&17A), doing so before the primary elections in 2024, that YOU will primary them.
If the proposed amendment was limited strictly to repealing 16&17A, relatively little or ideally no discussion would be needed before ratification of the amendment imo.
With 16&17A out of the way, my hope is that Trump 47 becomes the FIRST president of a truly constitutionally limited power federal government.
In the meanwhile, I'm not holding my breath for significant MAGA legislation to appear in the first 100 days of new term for what may still prove to be another RINO-controlled House.
Trump will hopefully do another round of primarying RINOs for 2024 elections.
NOTHING is crazier than even considering anything so absurd.

Mayor Bowser should allow ALL Americans to vote in DC elections since DC is a FEDERAL district, not just an isolated municipality.

Do you think China has “free and fair elections” in which Americans can vote? Of course not.

If this story is true, I hope and expect JJ to have the balls to stick up for pointing out the obvious. And, any American citizen who has difficulty understanding the concept that only citizens of national origin/citizenship can vote in that nations elections should go to Mexico and try to vote in a Mexican election and see what happens to them. Oh! Be sure to be waving an American flag while they’re at it.
Can we vote regarding who sits on corporate boards if we don’t own stock in their company?
