One proposal – a restriction on a straw purchase for a felon – has bipartisan sponsorship.

Do Mexican Cartels and armed drug mules and sicarios get to keep their magazines capable of more than 10 rounds and AR-15s or other rifles with a pistol grip or barrel shroud or any semi-auto pistols capable of holding magazines with more than 10 rounds?
Asking for a friend who doesn't want to have his family overwhelmed with heavily armed criminals and criminal alien invaders and assassins.

I don't believe they're exempted. I expect they will turn their guns in to LEO's. /s

B. A person shall not manufacture, import, possess, purchase, sell or transfer any assault weapon.
C. Subsection B of this section shall not apply to:
(1) any government officer, agent or employee, a member of the armed forces of the United States or a peace officer to the extent that such person is otherwise authorized to acquire or possess an assault weapon and does so while acting within the scope of that person's duties;
(2) the manufacture of an assault weapon by a firearms manufacturer for the purpose of sale to any branch of the armed forces of the United States or to a law enforcement agency in the state for use by that agency or its employees; provided that the manufacturer is properly licensed under federal, state and local laws; or
(3) the sale or transfer of an assault weapon by a dealer that is properly licensed under federal, state and local laws to any branch of the armed forces of the United States or to a law enforcement agency in the state for use by that agency or its employees for law enforcement purposes.

Well, part of the problem is that many of the NM Democrat politicians consider us gringos to be the illegals; They support the Reconqiuista, whereby Mexico takes back Neuevo Mehico and kicks out or kills the white usurpers.

Thanks for the ping and the links to the PDFs to the actual bill, daves.

Wow, how draconian.

The article doesn’t do justice to what is in the actual bills. It is way worse than I expected, and I expected it to be horrible.

It is almost as if they got Bloomberg, David Hogg and the Mexican cartels to write the bills for them. They are going to have to build lots more prisons. If this was law now, 3/4 of the NM population would be guilty of multiple felonies.

Isn’t it nice or them to exempt the government from the AW ban? As if Biden hasn’t already threatened to use nukes against citizens, proving once again, you have much more to fear from out of control governments, who have been responsible for over 100,000,000 deaths since WWII, than your neighbor with an AR-15.

Drug dudes don’t care. They raided a storage unit in Albuquerque recently that belonged to a local gang and found a friggin’ German MG34 machine gun.

You’re preaching to the choir. I live in Oregon....Three women ran for governor in 2022. The worst one won.
