President Joe Biden plans to leave for a vacation in the Virgin Islands on Tuesday after the United States was blasted with record-cold temperatures and winter weather.
The president and his family leave Tuesday evening for St. Croix and plan to stay on the island for the rest of the week to celebrate New Year’s Day.
Meanwhile, about 50 people were killed across the United States as a bomb cyclone of Arctic air created record winter storms and freezing temperatures across most of the country. The city of Buffalo suffered a “once-in-a-generation” storm as 43 inches of snow fell over the weekend. The death toll in Buffalo reached 27 as of Tuesday morning.

At one time. President Calvin Coolidge had the most vacation days, but this corresponded to the deaths of two of Coolidge’s own family members, his father and his son.
I think Biden is on a pace to set a new record for days off.
He’s relying on a technicality, that he’s going to the United States versus Mexico or Costa Rica. St. Croix is in the USVI.

This ranks up there with the year the Obamas took their 2011 Christmas vacation in Hawaii. No big deal, except Mooche and the girls couldn’t wait for the Bamster and they took separate, five thousand mile trips, each with their own entourage and security details.
Guesstimates of the vacations for the Obamas is well north of a hundred million dollars, not accounting for security (which is always a big ole secret) for his eight years in office. We won’t know the costs of FJB’s bazillion vacations for a long time, if ever.

Biden’s personal fondness for the Virgin Islands is well documented.....He and his family have spent at least eight vacations in past years, generally arriving after Christmas and staying up to or just after the new year. In 2008, ’09 and ’10 he spent the holiday week on Water Island....In 2011, ’12, ’13, ’16 and ’18, he vacationed on St. Croix.
Well he’s pretty much done that all along.
