China sent 39 aircraft and three warships on military drills toward Taiwan on Thursday in a show of force against the self-governing democratic island nation.

Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense said officials detected the aircraft and vessels around 6 a.m. and were closely monitoring the military drills.

Thirty of the Chinese aircraft crossed over the median line of the Taiwan Strait, the ministry added in a Twitter post.

The People’s Liberation Army (PLA), the name for China’s forces, sent various warplanes in a southwest direction toward the southeastern region of the island before doubling back.

The PLA has recently conducted several drills around Taiwan but Thursday’s military activity was the largest in several months.

$100B for Ukraine, and won’t ship weapons to the Taiwanese that they purchased.

Biden is not only a demented, horrible, corrupt person, he’s compromised by the Chinese.

A reflection of those that support this administration.

“the self-governing democratic island nation” -— Aren’t most nations “self-governing?”

The West (not just the U.S., but all of NATO as well) have sent most of their weapon stockpiles to Ukraine for use against, and to be captured by, the Russians.

We are now scrounging weapons and ammunition from our active duty units to sent to Ukraine. We are no longer in a position to conduct a sustained combat operation.

China is taking advantage of that.

There has been no possibility of a US military defense of Taiwan since 1983, probably not since 1973 - whoever is President.

Not nations that consider themselves part of a larger entity. Until very recently the government on Taiwan considered themselves the legitimate government of China proper...

Don’t misconstrue this, I’m very much pro-Taiwan.

China’s version of the Monroe doctrine is that every nation that shares a border with China is a legitimate target for conquest.

That’s a political decision, based on “engagement” with the CCP, which of course starts in ‘72.

It’s routinely gamed - a mixture of indigenous defense capabilities with external aid, enough to cause unacceptable indigestion to the aggressor. But it depends on political will, which has been completely sapped starting with Kissinger and turbocharged by NWO initiatives like MFN that have led to “Nationalist China” being replaced with “errant province” rhetoric from Washington of all places.

So you and I agree, then, that all this war talk and wargaming about US-China and Biden is just hot air?

I mean, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, Obama and Trump would not have made war on China either, right?
