No we don’t. But we do know that they were not properly handled. If the documents had been declassified they would be marked as such. They weren’t.

If they had not been declassified at the time of storage that’s worse. The law specifies that classified documents MUST BE STORED IN A SAFE. Or worse, for some Top Secret documents that safe would need to be inside a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility.)

I’m still scratching my head on this one.

What makes no sense is that these documents were certainly stored as above at the White House. They would have been under very strict control with periodic inventories. You don’t just throw out rules because events cause you to move back to Boca Raton.
