Mink might work better. I’ve seen YouTube videos of trained ones hunting rats. They are viscous and can go everywhere a rat can go. I’ve seen them work in tandem with a dog. Maybe they can work with cats too.

I’ve seen those videos, Joseph Carter, The Mink Man, he uses trained minks and rat terriers, between the two they slay tons of rats
