A Wisconsin judge has rejected a request from the state's League of Women Voters to allow election officials to count absentee ballots with incomplete witness addresses.
Dane County Circuit Judge Nia Trammell on Wednesday said the group's request for a temporary injunction "would upend the status quo and not preserve it" and "frustrate the electoral process by causing confusion" less than two weeks before Election Day, CBS News reported.
The Republican-controlled state Legislature, which intervened in the case, welcomed the judge's ruling.
The Legislature has passed bills since the 2020 election to make absentee voting more difficult, but Democratic Gov. Tony Evers has vetoed the legislation.

Excellent
Absentee ballots are no harder than filling out a change of address form.
LEGAL NAME as appears in the records or your recently married/divorced name
address that matches - or your current address if you have moved
mark and sign your ballot.
insert it correctly into the official envelopes.
mail it in or drop it off at the county office.
not. that. hard.
Well the rat SOS in Pa is ignoring the same ruling issued by the US Supreme Court and the Pa GOP is doing exactly nothing about it.
Beat me to it. Exactly right.
Mass mail-in ballots are prima facie evidence of a corrupt electoral process.
Even with the very best intentions of administrators (which usually doesn’t exist), such a system is full of errors.
fix'd
The PA GOP is in on the Steal.
They passed Act 77, before the coronavirus was even on the radar.
C’mon, that’s so yesterday. It ain’t tech cool. \s
Utterly shocked to be honest when I read it because it a a DANE COUNTY judge...that is leftist heaven and positive rulings for the GOP never come out of there.
Interesting!
IOW, be careful what you wish for.
The form clearly states that the witness has to provide an address, aka “required.”
Now we just have to wait and see if the state decides (like Pennsylvania did), to just ignore what the judge said.
Until they do count them and mix them in with the good votes. Then say we can’t fix it now...sorry.
Cannot think of any reason to leave a ballot undated unless the voter does not fathom the concept of time or is leaving the date off intentionally to hide that it is late.
