Pipelines are inspected by remote control PIGs that are inserted by large access ports near the portions where turbines increase the pressure of the material passing through the pipeline. It is more than possible to have a PIG in both the pipelines tow an explosive into place and then detonate it. I suspect the Russians did this. Why is less clear. Its not feasible to remove the soil covering the pipelines attach several large explosives’ devices even if they were shape charges and blow multiple holes in both pipelines either by divers or remote submersibles. Now the sea water will make the pipelines unsafe for high pressure gas transit due to corrosion. These pipelines are both total write offs.

Your “suspicions” will certainly be PROVEN WRONG when the investigators can actually get to the crime scenes to do their BDA and evidence collection. They will be able to quickly tell whether the bombs EXPLODED OUT (i.e., according to your theory) or EXPLODED IN (from the effects of high explosive charges placed on the OUTSIDE of the pipelines.

From what Biden said, we already owed Russia and Germany a blown-up NS2 just from the initial Russian invasion. By the same calculus I would surmise we owed them a blown-up NS1 for the Russian annexation of Ukrainian territory.
If that’s the calculus then it only makes sense to wait and blow them both at the same time. Those pipelines could have been mined for months, with the mines patiently awaiting reception of the detonation command sequence.
