Jim Florio, the former democratic governor of New Jersey, has died at age 85.
Florio's death was announced by his law partner, Douglas Steinhardt.

This was the man who taxed toilet paper after promising not to raise taxes. People protested by throwing rolls of TP over the fence at the governor’s mansion. He was quite unpopular.

A close friend of mine said the same thing. Even though Florio was a dem, he apparently was a very nice even to those he disagreed with. Much different than Murphy who is a condescending jerk.

This Communist pushed an "assault" weapons ban in the 1990s, going so far as to order owners to surrender them or render them inoperable which even California didn't do in their anti-constitutional laws.
Jim Florio's funeral pyre needs to be on top of a New Jersey garbage dump and his ashes dumped in municipal waste processing plants throughout the state.

Yes it was Bob Grant( then on WABC Radio - New York) who coined that nickname. He hammered Florio and then NYC Mayor, David Dinkens relentlessly. In my opinion partially responsible for Christine Todd Whitman’s victory. Although her 2 terms were questionable at best.
