The Walt Disney Co. has lost nearly $63 billion in market capitalization since it decided in March to embrace radical LGBTQ activism and declare war on Florida by opposing the state’s Parental Rights in Education law.
Shares of Disney have plummeted 23.5 percent since the start of March.
For the past 12 months, Disney has seen its stock drop more than 30 percent, making it the worst performing stock on the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
Disney’s free fall comes as the company has embraced woke, far-left politics, specifically the exposure of young children to radical LGBTQ ideology.
The trouble began in early March when Disney CEO Bob Chapek caved to a group of LGBTQ employees, abandoning the company’s neutral position on the Florida legislation.
Later that month, the company doubled-down on its commitment to wokeness, vowing to continue fighting the Florida law even after Gov. Ron DeSantis signed it into law.
“Our goal as a company is for this law to be repealed by the legislature or struck down in the courts, and we remain committed to supporting the national and state organizations working to achieve that,” the company said.
Gov. DeSantis responded by stripping the company of its self-governing status in Orlando, a special privilege Disney has enjoyed for five decades. The Reedy Creek Improvement District conferred a host of perks to Disney, including the right to develop the 25,000 acre area without having to seek government approval.
Disney’s predicament grew worse when leaked videos showed company leaders openly boasting about promoting a gay and transgender agenda in Disney’s content for children.
Disney has now become a cautionary tale among corporate CEO’s who are seeking to avoid a PR disaster like the one Disney brought upon itself in Florida.

Sadly, the parks are probably still fully ‘packed’ with folks who don’t care or are gleefully unaware.

For Disney Florida, their self drawn trouble is far from over. Just at the Top of the roller coaster…..and the ride always finishes at the bottom.
Even worse are those that are attending the parks, know about Disney’s stance, and agree with it because they have been successfully reeducated.
Change “Space Mountain” to “LGBTQ Mountain”!! That’ll fix it!

....amazing how long it takes for the obvious insidiousness of that corporation to filter down to the general public...now it is time to financially and socially destroy Disney. ESPN, Hulu, ABC,marvel, star wars...if there is one lesson we learned from covid, it is that entertainment is not completely necessary during free time.. Certainly not corporate deceivers like Dizzney.

I love to start the day with a hot cup of coffee and a heart warming story.
While I dislike Disney a lot, this loss is largely due to other factors. Yes, it has taken a bad PR hit, but the capitalization loss cannot be blamed entirely on wokeness. I wish it could.
Disney, like many of these other multimedia companies, is learning just how much the internet has interrupted the viewers' mindsets of watching the Least Objectional Program (LOP).

I know somebody who’s spending a boatload of money down there right now with his 5 yo granddaughter.
