They’re slob goblins.

With employees prepping to flock back to the office amid easing COVID restrictions, many are faced with the same dilemma — how to switch off “goblin mode” now that they’re around other people.

My wife applied for telework and got it. She never wants to work at the office again and she is more productive because half the day is spent gabbing in a sowing circle. I myself couldn’t ever get anything done if I had to work at home if I worked in an office.

I don't blame anyone for being pissy about returning to an office. The office is a hostile work environment if you're an intelligent and productive human being. It's nothing but risk; say the wrong thing based on some lunatic's perception and you're likely to get fired.

The productive staff will once again be saddled with the incompetent ones and cowardly bosses will scurry about trying to look busy and pretending they have any idea about leadership.

I liked the people I worked with and enjoyed being in the office. But I got a heck of a lot more work done from home.

The productive people are productive no matter where they work, but most have found they can get even more done at home rather than at a central office.

The slackers and con artists who are not that productive or use the work of others as cover have not all done so well working at home, because its more easy to see in many cases what they actually have and haven’t done.

Some workers may want to bring their Comfort Poodle or Piglet
with them to the office. “What am I supposed to do about
Ziggy the Piggy? He hates to be alone!”

for white collar workers in korporate amerika, the pandemic offered a silver lining with working from home.

once it was proven it could be done it's hard for management to reign that back in. the smart mgrs are letting their folks work from home.

plus, with all the wokiness in the office who wants to be around the pronoun/lgbtqlmnop/tranies who are mentally unstable??

Every HR is full of the most useless human beings ever.
They should have zero power.

I retired 11 years ago and thankfully I worked mostly outside the office - but your description fits the office environment to a T even back then. I worked for a Fortune 100 corp...the current state of woke deterioration started long ago.

One of our adult kids was able to move to a different state and still work from home! The other one has to report back to the office in a month or so. They are much happier and much more productive working from home. Plus, the gas price/long commutes!!!!!

I am still in contact with most of the people I worked with in the 1970s! But working with them eight hours a day could be a grind! And the bosses were arses!

I feel the same way. I like the people I work with (except for a couple of stinkers!) but I get a whole lot more done at home as opposed to the office. The only time I actually work from the office is if I got something to do that requires a physical presence. If not, I stay home, it’s that easy.
