There appear to be about a dozen generals (4-stars) in the Russian military.
The major generals getting bagged in Ukraine are 1-stars, and there must be over a thousand of those.
#38 Never go into management in Russia or China or North Korea or any where there is a dictatorship.
Overheard on the interwebs:
I came across a very true comment – Putin managed to do what Ukrainian nationalists had failed to do in 30 years – convince even Eastern Ukrainians that Bandera was correct about the Russians. ]
Yes it is.
I don’t think he’s too popular right about now.
Yep. The U.S. Navy has more admirals than ships. I’d bet the Army’s flag ranks are equally as bloated. They drink expensive wine and go to fancy dinners in Washington. None have ever won a war.
Milley said publicly that “this will be all over in 72 hours “.
The flying Vindman Brothers...
LOL!
I wonder if these 8 General Officers were field commanders, or folks back in Moscow?
Somebody has to take the blame for the failures occurring.
I expect the blame shifting to increase in intensity, as failures accumulate.
Knives Out!
Yeah but changing coaches in the middle of the season, when you can’t even pull coaches with track records from other teams, isn’t a good sign for them.
They probably feel lucky they aren’t flag ranked officers in the N Korean Army.
Death by crew served weapons,
You can bet china is taking note.🤔
I thought it was his ashes from a shotgun.🤔
Yah beat me to it.😏
Damn, that’s one big mortar. At some point cannons can get so big that they almost become a little comical.
Stalin executed most of the senior leadership in the military before WW II.
During the war, he ordered many Generals to lead suicide charges and then awarded them “Hero of the Soviet Union” medals. Stalin was even one paranoid than Putin.
It’s still early. If I was a fired Russian General, I’d fake my own death and surrender to the Ukrainian army.
You can bet the replacement Generals will order their units to attack without regard to their lives, like the Russian Generals did in WW II. Only difference is the WW II Russian army had 10s of millions of soldiers. Those following the soldiers in front of the soldiers that were part of the initial charges often didn’t have guns; they were told to just grab weapons of their dead comrades.
The Russian soldiers are going to be slaughtered when they are forced to attack Kiev. The Ukrainian army and civilians have had way too much time to prepare. The Russians are stretched thin and need to be careful of being attacked from the rear where they will have little protection from anti-armor weapons, rocket launchers, dug in army units and snipers.
“I can always make more.”
True, and the Russian army will get a lot better for it.
Real countries expect victory out of Generals and don’t retain Generals that fail.
Unfortunately this needed to happen long before the war ever started. Putin’s Generals are entirely responsible for logistical and strategic shortcomings of the Russian army. Technically even of its poor state of readiness.
As well as its failure to implementing strategies. They should have insured the men they sent knew what to do, and equipment they sent was ready to be used.
The Ukraine isn’t defeating Russia, Russia’s own general’s incompetents are.
