The authorities of the Republic of Poland, after consultations between the President and the Goverment, are ready to deploy – immediately and free of charge – all their MIG-29 jets to the Ramstein Air Base and place them at the disposal of the Government of the United States of America.
At the same time, Poland requests the United States to provide us with used aircraft with corresponding operational capabilities. Poland is ready to immediately establish the conditions of purchase of the planes.
The Polish Government also requests other NATO Allies – owners of MIG-29 jets – to act in the same vein.
Wonder if the German Chancellor was informed.
You should probably continue the thought. What would the US target with tactical nukes IF US naval assets started an armed conflict and were then nuked at sea?
There are rungs to nuclear escalation - especially if the first targets are at sea or in low-population mountains.
The lower rungs are not unthinkable. We need to think about them soberly.
And if anyone is wondering why I mentioned “low-population mountains” - there is a nuclear power out there that has an explicit plan of first strike nuclear response to conventional attack.
Would anyone FReepers like to guess which one it is?
anyone FReepers = any FReepers
Alright. Now what? How are they going to get from Germany into Ukraine?
Attack sorties from German soil?
Originate from German soil, with a flyover of Polish (& Czech) airspace anyway?
A flyover of any number of other countries that almost certainly want to stay out of it?
They're going to permit flight through their airspace to attack Russians?
Are the Polish MiG-29's the upgraded version capable of midair refueling?
If not, then were are they going to land and refuel on their way to Ukraine?
Are there even any capable airfields or areas to support landing them once in Ukraine? To maintain them? To arm them? To shelter them from Russian cruise missiles when not in the air?
This has got "escalation" and "WWIII" written all over it from a move that made a complex situation even more complex, unnecessarily.
If they have American markings, then as US warplanes they probably already have transit rights over Germany and Poland. Both countries also allow US jets to land and refuel.
Yawn. They’ve had that ‘doctrine’ for decades. They know any nuke attack means a nuke response.
When the Soviets bitch? FUCK, THEM.

Do those countries have agreements to allow US jets to land and refuel in their countries on a mission to attack Russian assets in Ukraine?
And lets not forget NATO article 5.
The "American" MiG's are going to get permission from Poland and Czech to overfly their country's on missions to attack Russia...
and then the U.S. jet's get hit by Russian aircraft, or s-400's or any other manor of air attack
and now article 5 is invoked ANYWAY.
The people involved in this "plan" are truly not very impressive.
MiGs are just bigger drones.
Soviet satellite intel? lol.
Now, the Chinese could give Putin live intel, but what amount of trust does Putin put into anything/anyone who is not a White Russian at this point?
Not all Nuclear actions are the same.
If belligerent US naval assets started engaging with Russian Forces - and if Russia decided to zero-rate with one or two tactical nukes rather than try to saturate defences - what would the 'Nuke Response' be?
A single Strategic strike against a Russian city would be a huge escalation that would break NATO - but let's imagine that Biden orders it.
It would be met with a single (shoot 'til successful) Strategic strike against a US city.
And as the entire GDP of Russia is 3/4 that of Texas, and as the Russian population is really spread out, any US city is worth many times as much as a Russian city. Ok not Detroit. But otherwise the US would come out much worse from the exchange.
The only possible equal exchange is megadeath. That's a high price to pay for Hunter Biden's Paycheck.
WWIII is already on. There's more than one aspect than military involvement going on here. The business warfare, hacking and more have been going on for days.
Our global threat management team is constantly pushing out security updates, policy updates and more to our pc's and servers to protect them.
Our Network Security team is all over all the different hacking attempts from Russia & China that have dramatically ramped up over the past 45 days, and it was REALLY bad before. It's un-freaking believable the attacks against the US's financial sector right now.
If you didn't see Lazamataz's "prudent things to do before ww3 starts" you need to go read it. Some of the advice in what he posted was directly from me.
MiGs are just bigger drones."
It's also hilarious that some people seem to believe that this brainless move wouldn't be an unnecessary escalation by NATO.
Zelenskyy knows full well that 20 something MiG-29's are ultimately going to have a near zero affect on stopping Russian air domination in his country.
What he's clearly angling for, is getting NATO actively involved in the war.
No thanks.
Keep supplying/approving the Javelins, Stingers, etc, but WWIII is a hard pass.
This is the scenario or one like it I can invision. It took me a bit to realize Sundowner was Biden, though.
Someone posted earlier that weapons you sell, lend, etc, fall outside the treaty. You can search back through the thread.
I hope the Great Reset doesn’t turn out to be the Global Thermonuclear Reset.
Sorry Smogger - my bad. I obscured my point by indulging in that nickname.
Especially as ‘Sundowner’ sounds like a bad-ass ASW missile
Talking of Sundowning, midnight is here in the UK. I am off to bed. God bless and keep all here.
