The authorities of the Republic of Poland, after consultations between the President and the Goverment, are ready to deploy – immediately and free of charge – all their MIG-29 jets to the Ramstein Air Base and place them at the disposal of the Government of the United States of America.
At the same time, Poland requests the United States to provide us with used aircraft with corresponding operational capabilities. Poland is ready to immediately establish the conditions of purchase of the planes.
The Polish Government also requests other NATO Allies – owners of MIG-29 jets – to act in the same vein.
Moreover, if launching a nuclear weapon first was a good move to make then Putin should have nuked Kiev and “saved” thousands of Russian lives.
If launching a nuclear weapon first was a good move to make then Putin should have nuked Kiev and “saved” thousands of Russian lives.
Why should Poland put itself at risk for Obama's coup?
When I was in ROTC being taught Russian doctrine (1978-80) we were told that the Russians would escalate to at least tactical nukes as soon as they got bogged down.
They would either use them to “unblock” the jam, or to demonstrate how “f ing crazy” they were. It would give them the opportunity to disengage without losing face.
In either case, the decision to escalate to strategic use was almost always up to us.
Big Fookin Deal.
You can try to rationalize this however you please to comfort yourself that nukes are not in play.
Putin has already stated otherwise if certain conditions are met.
That makes ZERO sense.
I don't think we should get involved in a EU problem but he (Putin) is bluffing and only the really stupid are buying it.
“Explain to me just ONE scenario were launching first is a good move.”
I’ll not waste more digits on somebody who knows jack shit on the subject.
As a TACAMO crew member who participated in 3 Polo Hat Exercises I consider myself amply schooled in nuclear war games.
I consider you somebody with a beer, time and a fantasy about Revolutionary War games. So believe as you will. Advocate for your positions here on FR.
Just know there are a few of us that know you know jack shit.
Look up “escalate to deescalate.” It has been their doctrine for decades.
Believe it or not. But that was how they were going to come into West Germany.
It certainly feels like we are 😳😯🤔
Look up bluffing blow hards.
Pootie and the boyars (oligarchs) would be safe in their Altai mountain underground city - one of many. And the people safe in their subway/fallout shelters.
We would be ash. So no worries.
A bunch of MIG 29 can’t push him into a corner. Neither can these pathetic “sanctions”. They do solidify China’s relationship as Putin’s sugar daddy. But that was already the relationship before he invaded. That relationship will just be solidified is all.
What Poland providing MIGs to Ukraine despite Putin’s threats is 1. show that NATO will not be bullied with idle threats, and 2. give Ukraine the means to at least contest their own air space, from which Russia is conducting a criminal Blitzkrieg, something of which Poland knows all too well.
Putin is not insane. “Crazy dictator with nukes” is already a hackneyed meme. Little Kim tried it out on Trump and had it thrown right back at him. Putin is now trying it on with Biden, who’s a gullible rube, despite his touted “experience” agreeing with Obambi, and collecting bribes through his son’s “business dealings”.
Realistically, though
Might Putin suddenly shut off the oil and gas spigot to Europe? OK. China already agreed to make up the difference. Europe will hurt from this move, and America, Canada and Mexico will inevitably make up the difference, no matter what crap they believe about climate change.
But watch enough Twilight Zone episodes, and the third act becomes predictable. Make a deal with the Devil, you always get screwed. China wants its old empire back, too, part of which is Siberia, from whence much of Putin’s oil and gas wells emanate. When the Devil collects his due, they will go at each other like two starved alley cats in a bag. Europe and the US step in and offer to take Putin off China’s hands. He goes to the Hague. China gets Siberia, for now. Maybe also Taiwan, but that will have to be contested. Disregarding the reality of the “contractual obligations,” they make the chips. And everyone needs chips, and China can’t be allowed to corner the market on them.
But ICBMs will not be happening anytime soon. Putin isn’t nuts. He just plays it on TV. He’s all sorts of other things, including smart. Old MIGs, shmigs. He’s got new MIGs. The Uke pilots have some basic knowhow, and a whole lot of courage. That might make them contenders. We’ll see.
Well, as usual…when you don’t know what you are talking about, you lash out. Not interested in you tonight. Believe what you want. I literally am not capable of caring any less about you.
Imagine if the Sundowner ordered American assets to start shooting cruise missiles from the Black Sea. Or to engage the Russian Black Fleet of course.
In this case: single tactical nuclear weapons might well be used; to push back against or 'zero rate' the huge tech advantage of the US Naval assets - and with the advantage of minimal civilian casualties.
The US might fire nukes back - but unless they escalated to land targets they would only be killing sea targets that they already had every advantage against.
And they get an upgrade to u.s. fighters
Poland didn’t supply MIG-29s to Ukraine.
They simply offered to ship them to Ramstein for the US to do as they please with them, provided the US provides the same number of similar capability aircraft.
Might? LOL...
I know. It’s in the pipeline, which means by the time they gets into Odessa or wherever, there may be no Ukraine left.
According to the Polish and German press the deal is real, not just an offer.
