A man with local ties died Jan. 28 after doctors say his second COVID vaccine caused an immune response that led to the development of an autoimmune disease.
Brandon Pollet, 33, was born and raised in LaPlace and lived in St. Charles Parish for 10 years before moving to Ponchatoula.
“Brandon had no prior medical history,” Brandon’s wife Jessica Pollet said. “After his second Pfizer vaccine, Brandon developed a headache right away then fever 48 hours after.”
His first hospitalization was Oct. 21 – Nov. 7.
“He was worked up for hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, or HLH, but it was ruled out and he was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease called Still’s Disease,” Jessica said. “After discharge, Brandon went home for about a month and was then re-hospitalized Dec. 14.”
Jessica said it was later in December when Brandon was officially diagnosed with HLH. The couple has a 1-year-old daughter.
“He received the HLH protocol treatment, which included chemotherapy,” she said last week. “Unfortunately, none of the usual treatments have worked. The doctors have agreed that the COVID vaccine caused an immune response that led to the development of the autoimmune disease and HLH.”
Jessica said that the employees of Shell Oil – where Brandon worked as an instrument mechanic – have been incredibly supportive and encouraging to the entire family, as has the entire St. Charles Parish community.
“The community has organized blood drives and a GoFundMe account to support Brandon and to help us pay medical bills,” Jessica, who took leave from work to care for Brandon, said. “We ask for your thoughts and prayers.”

Not quite. When you are infected with a natural virus, the virus uses your cell to replicate copies of itself. It DOES NOT cause your cells to produce a spike protein and then deploy that spike protein on the surface of YOUR OWN CELLS, which is what the mRNA vaccines do.
Good observation newbie. There has been plenty of tag team operations over the years on hot button issues. The mask proponents did a bug out after after CDC said cloth masks aren't effective..

I have MS that has been in remission for 6 years AND this is EXACTLY why my neurologist told me under NO CIRCUMSTANCES to take this vaccine, my doc had been in research of autoimmune disorders at UCLA Med, they were seeing this early on, when the vax was mandated there he left and continued on with his private practice only!! I have a horrible feeling that MANY, MANY are going to be developing immune disorders over the next few years this is a bad situation!!

India and Me and Husband!!! We had to use the green apple horse paste, zinc, D3 and Emergen-C. Took two days to knock out the symptoms, took a week to knock out the energy drain, but we are great and part of the herd!!! My husband was able to work (he works at home anyway) the whole time. He’d work a few hours and rest one. This kept his mind intact! Me, I’ve had a few covid forgetful moments being more lazy through it.
We, however, got to attend the Trump Rally in Conroe Saturday night and were strong through the whole thing!!!

The virus is still within your cells and they are making the viruses...and viruses can cause autoimmune diseases in the same way.
I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve seen people argue that getting the virus is better than the vaccine because a viral infection don’t make your own cells produce things foreign to your body. I’ve seen that over and over and over again. If the virus is supposedly “better” than the vaccine it certainly isn’t for that reason - obviously a lot of people with completely uninformed opinions.

Yes, in india they didn’t have to use the horse version. They used the pill version our government won’t let us use.
