I read a story on here about the Texas Guard numbers on the border.
My calculation was appx 4 soldiers per mile.
I think even an old guy like me could patrol a quarter mile stretch.

Donald Trump is as free as I am to take or not take the shots. It is a chance in either direction and a personal choice for those who are weighing the odds according to their own knowledge of their own bodies. I also do not care politically what he is doing or not doing as I know nothing about his motivation. I do know that Trump is doing whatever he can to preserve our Republic and will continue to support and pray for him to succeed. Why anybody chooses to part with him over the covid mess is a reflection on them and not Trump. I see purpose and determination and long range planning, and a vast strength of will to save the American people and our Republic. I am not given to thinking I know everything about his decisions, and frankly am not buying the current displeasure of some conservatives with Trump and his vac statements. They have other issues as well, and this I know for sure from many years of experiences with having something thrown out as a grievance to advance some other issue that is eating them. God bless Pres Trump and this Republic.

“Is DeSantis outright condemning the vaccine?”

No, DeSantis is not condemning the vaccines (to my knowledge), but his actions have been to focus on treatments and to stay away from the lunacy of lockdowns and masks.

I don’t believe any viable candidate can condemn the vaccines — even if they are a disaster. But they sure don’t have to double down on vaccines.

I voted for Trump and may do so again but today he is not my first choice. I actually don’t have a first choice. As I said, it is way too early.

Trump was certainly the right person for the time. He accomplished many good things but he missed a few “putts,” too. While I appreciate his aggressiveness he needs to make it less about him and more about the country. And, he definitely needs to stay off of Twitter. That is like throwing gasoline on a fire.

I was around when Regan was first elected and in my mind, he was the best president of my lifetime. He didn’t hit long balls all the time, but he did not constantly stir the pot. And even though the media came after him he did a good job of deflection. I know we can’t go back, but if we had a candidate with Regan’s qualities I would vote for him or her in a nanosecond.

Again, it’s way too early for me to make a decision. But I’m open to a few different ideas that will get us out of the mess we are in and barreling toward. I’m praying for this country — ‘cause we sure need it!

I hope He answers our prayers but you know He sure walloped Israel a few times. I hope we (our country) have learned and it is not too late.

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Don’t you agree we need healing pretty bad?

"Best election, best POTUS, evah!
If not Trump in 2024, then whom?"

Totally agree, if Trump wants it, he will most likely win it, big time.
But if, for whatever reason, he doesn't want it, then we should listen carefully to whomever he names.

There is at least one, but any candidate that embraces vaccine conspiracy theories will be laughed out of the primary. Trump will tout the vaccines as safe while blasting the petty tyrants supporting mandates and lock downs. Most conservatives seem to be on the same page as Trump is. Trump, Desantis, Cruz, Pence, Abbott all support choice.

The only potential candidate that will condemn the vaccines is Mike Pompeo(Q) and as I said above, he will be laughed out of the republican primary for doing so. He has zero chance beyond the role of a spoiler like Ross Perot. Hell, I’ll go out on a limb and predict the usual suspeQts will work hard to undermine the 2024 R candidate, even if it’s Trump or Desantis.

Hey Jim, we just want him to stop pimping these dangerous mRNA drugs okay? I could give a rats A$$ if he is opposed to mandates. That should be a given! His support of these drugs is a finger in the eye of his supporters, and he just needs to STFU about them!

One of the reasons Fauci is untouchable is Trump’s nonstop praise for this A-hole at each and every one if his stupid covid pressers!

Trump keeps this up, and he is going to lose some of his base! I think much of his support for this dangerous drug is HIS Operation Warp Speed! He sees this as a great achievement, and his ego will not allow him to let it go...side effects be damned!

I think I’ve read recently that Trump now says he wishes that he had fired Fauci.

If not Trump in 2024, then whom?

I wouldn’t count Trump out yet, but DeSantis would be the most obvious alternative at this point. He has an impressive background, from playing in the Little League World Series as a child, to graduating from both Harvard and Yale, to serving in US Navy Seal Team One and receiving several medals for his service. All of that pales in comparison of course to how he conducted himself first as a leader in the US House Freedom Caucus, to now the Governor of Florida, where he has established himself as a firebrand who is unafraid of endless media attacks, and someone who is capable of not only proposing but actually delivering the most conservative and foward-thinking policies of any current Governor. His recent threat to send all the illegal aliens to Delaware for example was Trump-esque to the tee.

Is there any viable candidate out there that would unconditionally condemn the vaccine?

Sarah Palin is the most outspoken, but I don’t think that’s what we’re even asking of Trump. We just want him to be more like he was before, when he spoke of natural immunity, he spoke of treatments other than experimental injections, which he seems to have completely abandoned now. He can be pro-vaccine to a degree, but to now completely ignore the potential dangers, especially the long term ones, and to go so far as calling the vaccines the greatest invention of history exposes a serious weakness in his analysis, if not his character. No one wants this virus situation to continue, much less repeat itself, but Trump seems so satisfied with himself looks like he’d be more than ready to do it all again, which is something that needs to be avoided at all costs.

Hope that helped, and you’re having a wonderful Holiday season!

It is getting him in trouble with his base.

I have been pro-Trump long before he announced his campaign.   I have had both of my Covid-19 vaccine shots.   I have no fear of DNA related machination, including GMO food.

I believe that many of the stories against the vaccine are from intentional sabotage or from incompetent handling of the vaccine in its transport and preparation.

The vaccine was first introduced as absolutely necessary for older individuals with so called comorbidities, of which I am.   I am adamantly against mandated vaccinations.

President Trump has not gotten himself in trouble with this base.

Take a few minutes and listen to just a few minutes of this testimony from a Senate hearing that focused on what the vaccines have done to so many people. According to CDC VAERS almost 2,000,000 adverse effects have been reported and over 20,000 have died from the vaccines that came out of so-called “warp speed.”

Good grief!   Please read that again.   20,000 deaths in over 200,000,000 plus people?   Factor in those who were elderly and on the brink of death before the vaccine.   As I stated above, The vaccine was first introduced as absolutely necessary for older individuals with so called comorbidities.   When I look back on all of my relatives who died at a younger age than I am right now, it makes you seem ignorant and foolish.   If I die tomorrow, was it a heart attack like my Dad's death at the age of 56, or would you claim it was the Covid-19 vaccine?   Go peddle your vaccine terror somewhere else.

Tricksie you are. If he is a member of The Party, it would be news to me. Mitch McConnell is for sure, as is Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney. The thing about the Communist party, is there is no such thing. It is just The Party that all those in power belong to that run things. An outsider like President DJT was an outsider, is he still one? I don’t know, but with his braggadocio about this great life saving series of mRNA treatments is his foray into trying to get their approval.

Here’s my take on this:

The answer for the 2024 candidate should be “none of the above at this time”. The focus should be on 2022 - not 2024. As I’ve stated on another thread, Trump has till 1/6/22 to get out of the briar patch he’s walked into.

And beside, anyone’s name brought up right now will get a bunch of flames in this forum.

I voted for Trump twice. And I would vote for almost any GOP candidate of a dem in ‘24. But as if right now, I am hoping he is NOT the nominee in 24; as I believe they will hang the entire VEARS database around his neck. In fact, I think he’s being setup for it.

just my $0.02

jimjohn - OUT.

Yep. They are not safe for those who die shortly after being “vaccinated.”
