I will always prefer a guy like Trump who doesn’t need the job and who stands as a total repudiation of the entire political system in Washington.

Agree. DeSantis’s resume is quite similar to Buttigieg’s. A ticket punched in all the right places.
I’ve never seen DeSantis address the institutional corruption of the GOP in a Trumpian manner. Ever. That’s a huge red flag for me.
I’ll happily vote for DeSantis (again) but I’m also prepared to be disappointed with him. I doubt he’s a historic figure in the manner of Presidents Trump and Reagan.

If that’s a good thing - and FRers act invariably as it is - then Trump is lacking greatly and FRers are incredibly silent about it.
This is what I liked about Trump, the total outsider, not part of the insiders club, who actually did things like build a world wide empire before ever running for office. Not the typical lawyer turned career politician...Same old same old as the country slowly slides over a cliff. I think we've had enough of that bull s**t.
Besides, Trump is owed another shot at this.
