Ben & Jerry’s co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield were stumped when Axios journalist Alexi McCammond asked why they boycott parts of Israel but not red states with policies they don’t like.
“You guys are big proponents of voting rights,” McCammond said. “Why do you still sell ice cream in Georgia? Texas, abortion bans. Why are you still selling there?”
Cohen responded “I don’t know” with nervous laughter.
“It’s an interesting question. I don’t know what that would accomplish. We’re working on those issues, of voting rights,” Cohen said. “I don’t know. I think you ask a really good question. And I think I’d have to sit down and think about it for a bit.”

Michael Dickson, executive director of pro-Israel StandWithUs, called it a “car-crash interview” on Twitter, calling the Israeli boycott “wrong-headed,” “unfair,” and “discriminatory.”
Well, I can explain: Ben and Jerry are Good Kapos.

Neither Ben nor Jerry have been involved with their company in years. Of course they can’t explain why. They should ask Unilever those questions.
Hmmmmmmmmmm. How do you say “We hate the Jews”, without, you know, saying “We hate the Jews”?
Unfortunately many Texans, including conservatives, are JUST FINE with Leftist ice cream, even when there are many, many, other options.
I don’t like their ice cream at all. I like blue bell a lot. However, I’ll say that the container is probably a seller. It’s small enough for a treat and won’t cause overeating.
80% of American Jews do it every day.
In fairness, Ben and Jerry sold out in 4/2000 to Unilever, they do not hold any board or management positions and are not involved in any management of the company.
They can’t be forgiven they are self hating Jews who say nothing when Unilever makes false statements about Israel.
They could just state the Truth. Israel has made peace with
many Muslim Country’s, Arabs are in the Israeli Knesset, Arabs
vote, they have religion rights.
Unilever are just Jew Haters. Ben and Jerry are just cowards.
I agree. They should get the hell out of Texas, and Georgia. Don’t come back. They have plenty of ice cream in both states. Take your Starbucks coffee with you, and any other political brands. Go away.
Ben & Jerry’s ice cream has been sitting on freezer shelves with prices marked down in the two stores I’ve visited here in N.Ga. Some of it is selling but it’s not going very fast up here in Trump country. There are so many premium brands now that if they want to leave GA, I say don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
In Texas, we have Blue Bell. It’s better than Ben & Jerry’s to boot, so let B & J check out. We won’t miss ‘em.

In Oregon, it’s a toss-up between Umpqua and Tillamook.
Ben and Jerry’s would not be missed in the lion’s share of the market, wherever they choose to boycott.
