GOP lawmaker urges Kamala Harris to invoke 25th Amendment, seize power

A Republican House member wrote a letter Thursday to Vice President Kamala Harris, asking that she seize power under the 25th Amendment.

Rep. Madison Cawthorn, North Carolina Republican, urged Ms. Harris to begin the process of removing President Biden from office as “no longer capable of discharging the duties of his office.”

In the letter, Mr. Cawthorn says Mr. Biden has a “declining mind” and is “not even the Joseph R. Biden of two years ago” and thus cannot oversee such crises as the U.S. withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.

Mr. Cawthorn urges Ms. Harris to “find your courage” and “do nothing more and nothing less than your duty” by invoking the constitutional amendment that enables the replacement of an incapacitated president.

Why not make sure that all of the votes in the last election where counted correctly. Problem solved.

I’m concerned that the Left will get rid of Biden literally and spectacularly (and NOT constitutionally) and try to pin it on the Right.

Waving the bloody shirt has worked for them before and we can’t put anything past them.

I’m praying that President Biden goes peaceably - and legally, before his own “supporters” take him out. Such a coup would be just about the worst thing that could happen.

Madison Cawthorn is in deep with TPUSA which is run by the known grifter Charlie Kirk.

Normally I don't do "guilt by association", but Charlie has kicked out many people from TPUSA just because they appeared in an innocent photo with someone he doesn't like.

TPUSA is supposed to be the new kid on the block as far as young conservatism goes. I guess someone gave up on College Republicans and Young Americans for Freedom, but I didn't get the memo.

TPUSA did a tour of the country with a gay "conservative" and a tranny "conservative" in tow. Cawthorn joined in on the fun.

TPUSA seems like just another libertarian organization pretending to be conservative... and even worse... pretending to be populist conservative like Trump.

Kirk was not a fan of Trump until Trump won. Kirk, as all libertarians, is for relatively open borders and H-1b. He is more about free markets, i.e. taking it in the shorts, than he is for protecting the American way of life through fair markets as Trump is.

If Charlie has changed his tune it's only because deep down he isn't even a libertarian. He's just a grifter.

If Cawthorn associates himself with Kirk then he is suspect. I'm not saying he is a completely useless turd like Kirk, but he needs to separate himself from TPUSA.

"A Republican House member wrote a letter Thursday to Vice President Kamala Harris, asking that she seize power under the 25th Amendment."

Asking that she "seize" power? The 25th would grant it, not allow the seizure of it. The Biden administration 'seized' power from Trump through the ill-gotten gains of the rigged election of 2020. The true vote counts should've granted Trump another 4 years and it's extremely unfortunate that Trump can't use the 25th right now to render the pretender useless to anyone.

Yeah, but if she’s president she can’t be the tie breaker in the senate. And the Senate gets to approve her replacement

The Democrats will trot out someone palatable, a white male pretending to be a moderate. A former senator or governor probably, a member of the club. The GOP senate will rubber-stamp it. "The country must move on."

The best and more realistic scenario would be to let this run its course. Assuming the midterms run in our favor, this administration will be hamstrung for its last two years. By then, America will return the Executive branch to the Republicans.

Remember, it took a Carter administration to give us Reagan.

Of course, all that depends on whether the swing state governors can clean up their elections.

Leo Donofrio— a good read. You make all good points.

The people are being purposely kept down financially, by these same grifters— so they cannot take the time TO say “NO” to these scum. That is the methodology, that and the plandemic “lockdowns” for “safety”, etc.

Control, and Power- that is what the dem party was founded upon, and why the olde media (newspapers) across the land had “democrat” in their titles. Now the technocracy that thinks it supersedes our Constitution. Money doesn’t talk in this— it frankly swears out loud and proud of their “power” which is, as another of my points, fleeting. They can and will be removed.

It’s important to remember the process involved in the 25th Amendment. Yes, if Kam and a majority of the Cabinet send a letter to the House and Senate declaring Biden unfit, Kam becomes Acting President.

But if Joe objects, sending a letter to the House and Senate saying he’s just fine, thank you, then the real circus begins. Congress has to decide who to believe and it will take a 2/3rds vote in each house to remove him.

This will be must-see TV and no matter the outcome I believe the Biden-Harris administration will be destroyed. The consequences of that on our nation I believe will be devastating.
