Rush Limbaugh Taught Republicans to Love an Angry, Racist Bully
NY Mag ^ | Feb 17, 2021 | Jonathan Chait

Donald Trump’s connection to the conservative movement to this day remains a subject of acrimonious dispute among the right-wing intelligentsia — some have embraced the 45th president as the movement’s authentic leader, while others regard him warily as an interloper, a New York Democrat who captured the party from the outside.

Nobody on the right ever disowned Rush Limbaugh. Throughout his career, they agreed he was a pure representative of conservative thought. George Bush courted him with an overnight visit to the Lincoln Bedroom and the presidential box at the 1992 Republican National Convention. National Review declared him “Leader of the Opposition” in a 1993 cover story. “Limbaugh is not fringe,” gushed Washington Free Beacon editor Matthew Continetti. “His views fit in the conservative mainstream. He idolizes Buckley.”

The Republican Party considered Limbaugh’s influence on their 1994 midterm sweep so profound they made him an honorary member of the incoming congressional class. “I am in Congress today because of Rush Limbaugh,” testified Mike Pence, in 2001. Upon news of his death, George W. Bush called him “an indomitable spirit with a big heart.”....

Limbaugh’s racism was obsessive, not incidental. Any measures to uplift Black America, in his mind, could only come at white expense and were inherently illegitimate. Any economic reform — even a goal like universal health care, which Democrats had sought for decades and which prevailed throughout the industrialized world — was “reparations.” No episode was too marginal to be conscripted into this message. When in 2011, some schoolkids got into a fight — as they have since schooling existed — he warned, “In Obama’s America, the white kids now get beat up with the Black kids cheering.”

Who are they talking about? Biden? Rush was not racist in the least. Nor is President Trump.

“One of the most stupid, hateful and delusional headlines ever.”

They just cannot help themselves.

One of the hardest aspects of Rush passing, is not only the abject ignorance of people talking about the man, but their ability to use words ending in “ist” that have zero applicability to Rush.

Let them dance on his grave, I have no doubt Rush is STILL laughing at them.

Here’s what I get from the headline

(I stopped at NY Mag)

The angry racist bully is what is now the democrat party

Rush had a unique view allowing for honesty, humor, pushback from â judeochristian philosophy. He was never hateful

These people who criticize him did not know him

The term “racist” has been so degraded by the left that in common use it no longer has any substantive meaning - for people like Chait, it simply designates someone who disagrees with them on any matter involving race. It’s only a matter of time before some new version of Godwin’s law applies to the use of the term “racist”.

As best I know, any black person who actually knew Rush Limbaugh had nothing but fondness for him - as others have pointed out, Watler Williams often guest hosted; James Golden was practically in tears in speaking of him. Those who knew only his media caricature were the ones to throw around the term “racist”. And I suspect the same applies to Trump as well.

Has anybody heard any news about a Memorial/Funeral Services for Rush?

According to the Ashli Babbitt conspiratorialists, lack of an announcement means Rush was just a crisis actor and isn't really dead.

Jonny Shait and NYMag know that you can’t libel the dead.

One of the hardest things to do, EVERY DAY, for me is not to hate these vile, despicable leftists. And every day, I am seeking His forgiveness for giving in to the hard feelings I harbor for them.
Make no mistake, I can and DO hate everything they are and we are all commanded to fight evil with prayer every where we find it.
But then one (or several) of them publishes something or says something, showing their black and evil souls, and my head feels as if it will explode.
These leftists are incapable of dignity, honor or honesty. They are incapable of feeling shame. They are self-promoting, self-concerned, inhumane, shallow and petty. Satan could not have come up with a better ideology and political party.

Don’t believe anything you read in the democrat media.

Don’t believe ANYTHING they print.
