I remember how liberal news media use to ignore Rush Limbaugh until he challenged them on the 3 million homeless statistic they kept citing. Then they piled on! Now they had him! But Rush knew the 1990 census was coming up.

Liberal reporters and activists tried to get the homeless to hide from the census but their efforts fell flat.

It turned out to be a couple hundred thousand. No count could be completely accurate, of course but Rush Limbaugh won that hand. And it turned out the 3 million figure was made up by some homeless activist guy who admitted it. The newspapers and news TV never did any verification at all.

I was pretty shocked to learn that how bad the news was lying to me. Thanks for pointing that out, Rush Limbaugh. You opened my eyes but good with that one.

I was reading it and thought “This sounds more like Angelwood’s writing than Kristinn”. That’s what I get for not reading the heading closely enough.

In the early days of RUSH Limbaugh He did his “RUSH to Excellence “ tours the local station had him come up to “My Town” Ca to speak at the local municipal auditorium. My self and 9 or 10 other small business’ bought a advertising package that paid for his trip here and back to New York. He spoke to a packed house twice and we got to spend a few minutes with him privately....

Rush has been quietly laid to rest.

**Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh has been buried in St. Louis, his family announced Friday.

Limbaugh’s widow, Kathryn, and his family said a private ceremony with close family and friends was held Wednesday, but they did not say where he was buried.

The site was later confirmed as Bellefontaine Cemetery, a historic graveyard in north St. Louis where many city and industrial leaders are buried.

The family said additional celebrations of Limbaugh’s life are planned in the future, both virtually and in his hometown of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, The Southeast Missourian reported.**

One of those idiot Dems (Dick Gephardt, I think) in congress talked about a GOP proposal saved only the cost of a muffler. Idiot has a press conference holding a muffler...people started sending old mufflers to his congressional office.

Thanks for sharing. The comments on that thread are a real “Who’s Who” of Freepers. Certainly brings back some memories - hard to believe 20 years have passed.

I have a Sore-Looserman T-shirt somewhere.

I spent about 120 hours working for the Bush campaign in the final 2 weeks (with a broken foot).

Bush may not have been a great president but he was head and shoulders above the alternative.

I had just joined back in November 2000 during the recount and was on off and on until 9/11/01. I remember listening to Rush during that time and he’d apparently done what he said was a composite drawing on his website of a Freeper.

Boy oh Boy. Those were the days when FREE REPUBLIC was solidly in support of George W. Bush. The FREEPS at the residence of Gore yelling for him to get out of Cheney’s how. Now everything has changed. He is persona non grata over here, cursed and accused of being a globalist and a RINO and lots of other things. I guess that is the shifting sands of fate when new people come on, or things shift away from Conservatism, and toward Populism, White Supremacy, Cult-Think (Trump Worship) and the like. It really is a different day.

Does anyone have a copy of the “composite Freeper“ photo that Rush had? I never saw it.

I posted this image before the Sore Loserman one came out. I sometimes wonder if I was the inspiration for that idea.

K,
have you forwarded this to Bo Snerdley or the EIB? I know they were asking for first hand accounts of Dave’s Bake Sale the other day. I bet they’d love this, too!

I’ll probably never get over Rush being off the air. Radio will never be the same. He was my mentor and will never be forgotten.
