Susan Collins voted for the Trump tax cuts and the overwhelmingly majority of the president’s judicial picks.
The RAT challenger would have voted NO on all of the above.
I live in Maine’s Second District, by the way.

If she were, they wouldn’t run anyone against her. Without her, ME would be solid blue. She’s a wily political operator, and more conservative than all Democrat senators except for Manchin. But Manchin is in a solid red state that has Republicans in pretty much all statewide offices and gave Trump a 45% margin. (So he’s somewhat moderate just to survive politically). Whereas Trump lost Maine, underperforming Collins by 7%. By Maine standards, Collins is so right-wing, she might as well be Barry Goldwater and Joe McCarthy rolled into one. Yet she keeps winning.

Not quite. Doing the right thing 35% of the time (Collins) is better than 0% of the time (psycho bitch Gideon).
As much are we aren’t exactly Collins’ biggest fans, she is a far better option than the alternative. She wouldn’t survive a primary in a truly conservative state, but this is Maine and — like it or not — is probably the best we can do. Who was Maine’s last actually conservative Senator?
Sure, I’d love to see Paul LePage in the Senate.... and he’d have lost by 15 points yesterday.

This conservative republican is thrilled. I dont understand how smart people dont understand that the senate is about numbers. You lose majority and you dont have committees, you dont set agenda. If Biden wins (God forbid), having the senate will save us from a lot of bad stuff getting passed.
