Fox News’ Chris Wallace says he's “sad” about how the presidential debate he moderated Tuesday night turned out and that he never dreamt that it would “go off the tracks the way it did,” in a phone interview with The New York Times.
The 90-minute debate between President Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden began and ended with the candidates interpreting and talking over each other – at times with harsh words.
Trump said Biden was not "smart.” Biden called Trump a “clown" and asked him to “shut up.”
“I’m just sad with the way last night turned out,” Wallace told The Times, in the first interview that the “Fox News Sunday” anchor gave after the debate. “I’ve read some of the reviews. I know people think, well, gee, I didn’t jump in soon enough.”
Wallace seemed to put much of the blame on Trump.
“I guess I didn’t realize – and there was no way you could, hindsight being 20/20 – that this was going to be the president’s strategy, not just for the beginning of the debate but the entire debate,” he said in the interview.
He also called the debate a “terrible missed opportunity” and said, “I never dreamt that it would go off the tracks the way it did.”

He’s Sad ??? I guess he feels he didn’t do enough to help Biden. I listened to his comments this morning on the Debate and the presidents Positive test and I wanted to Barf. Chris Wallace is an obvious anti-Trumper and I wish Fox would drop him, but I guess that is a false hope.
According to Rush, every time a debate broke out Wallace jumped in to stop it.

Put the candidates in separate rooms.
Switch the voice and video feeds appropriately.

ASKED?? Technically, yes, it was a question. But it was a demand to POTUS.

Biden is not smart. That is a fact. Trump is not a clown. Calling Trump a clown is a lie. Telling Trump to shut up is crass, low-class and not presidential. Wallace interrupting was unprofessional. Wallace's questions were despicable left-wing drivel.
So Wallace is sad. He should be ashamed. He has definitely exposed himself.
Wallace performed, repeat, performed exactly as I thought he would.
Proving once again that as a turd, he has no clean end.
A debate is a silly way to pick a president.
Just how long is he going to play the violin strings and feel sorry for himself?????
He is sad because he is hated by many today!
