Palm Beach, Fla. voter Tina Brown posted a video on social media on how mail-in ballots show the political affiliation of a voter when they open the envolope. Brown, a registered Republican, compared her ballot to her brother, a registered Democrat, and noted that the ballot has a way to signify the party registration with an "R" or a "D."

I was thinking the same thing.
This is for a primary election where voter will get a ballot for races within their party. If this happens in the general election ballots then that would be a big problem.
Isn’t a digital image of every piece of first-class mail retained by the USPS since 9-11?
Wouldn’t this be a way to record mail-in voter choices? Couldn’t this be used to track the R-D balance of mail-in votes from outside the US?
I hope this digital image information is preserved by the usual multi-layered information integrity systems of the US Government, that seem to be able to be wiped clean by a single “glitch” when necessary.
Just slow-walk the ballots or drop that bag of letters into a van headed to a distant port.

We’re old enough to remember when we still had the traditional “secret ballot.” Two years ago.
Right. No doubt they will make a big deal about there being no R or D on the ballot envelopes for the general. But the Zip codes will be and Zip code voting patterns are well known. Lose or delay just enough to flip the state .
Otherwise, they’d hve to use the old-fashioned Chicago method:
“Two for us, one for you. Two for us, one for you.”
Doesn’t the “D” stand for “Do not vote”?
