When a vaccine is found, it might not work for everyone, Sarah Varney writes for Kaiser Health News.
In the United States, the promise of a vaccine “is hampered by a vexing epidemic that long preceded Covid-19: obesity,” she wrote.
Studies have shown that flu, hepatitis B, tetanus and rabies vaccines can be less effective in obese adults than in the general population, and there’s no reason to believe a coronavirus vaccine will be any different.
“Will it still work in the obese? Our prediction is no.”

BMI is a good measure of general metabolic health for 90%+ of the population.

It only looks at two things to come to a broad conclusion about your health
A person’s health is not a one size fits all based on one ratio
BMI is an incorrect calculation that doesn’t even take volume into consideration.
BMI = kg/m2 where kg is a person’s weight in kilograms and m2 is their height in metres squared.
The result is that a short person can be pumpkin and be well below BMI 25 while a tall person can be a bean pole and be well above BMI 25.
You could make a valid BMI formula with a cubic factor, but current BMI is just a tool for professional affirmative action bureacrats and educrats to place blame on “obesity” when half the people they claim are obese, aren’t.
Thickening the plot to thin the herd.
On the bright side there has never been a civil war where the poorest people were the most likely to be obese. So we got that goin’ for us.

Maybe 90% of the population would not need to take the vaccine. Perhaps 65+, the military, medical workers will need to take it but herd immunity will be sufficient to protect the rest of us.
Next they’ll tell obese people to take TWO doses, twice the profit.
Meaning that it may not work well for 42% of Americans, or relative to those infected.
