I have said that from day 1. This is not over by a long shot. It will get worse much worse.When Covid 19 runs its course and they can milk it for who knows how many months down the road, The Powers That Be will come up with a Covid 20 to terrorize the sheep and idiots and the whole thing will start anew. I am not ashamed to admit it, but what is happening now utterly terrifies me.
It’s surrealistic.
*Never* would I have imagined, in my worst nightmares, how *easily* the populace would be conquered.
I figured it would be more a Red Dawn sort of thing...not a Masque Of The Red Death.
I am deeply afraid for this country and most of the time, I feel like I am seeing something no one else can.
Notice the woman at the copy machine just goes about her business like this happens every day in NJ.
What frightens me is the violence that has taken over. Its rioting, looting. Burning shooting, knocking down historic statues, violence against cops. The mask is nothing to me.
I hear you. Bullying gets to me too. Maybe it's because I took care of my mother for ten years as Alzheimer's shredded her mind that attacking old ladies gets to me so much. Early on she was confrontational with people. Irrationally. A common thing in dementia.
I thought she was going to get me into a fight with a guy at the gas station when she accused him of grabbing the gas nozzle before I could get it. It was on the pump behind the one I parked at.
Thankfully he was someone I used to work with, not close but an old friend, and he just laughed it off. In fact he respectfully put the nozzle back on the pump before I even got out of the car.
I was glad he didn't punch my elderly and confused mother for snapping at him.
Absolutely.
And when people utilize it honestly- which I’ve seen ‘good’ and ‘bad’ posters do- it indicates they are thinking sloppily, not critically. Which hurts their argument, whatever it was.

I think Walmart did a good job of advanced advertising of their mask policy, but nothing is perfect and one could well have missed it.
I’m not going to Walmart these days. Am in a rural area and it’s, IMO, a hotbed of viruses here that a mask will not protect me from.

In my opinion You have a right to be frightened, terrified even. People have had their lives taken over this mask crap. Idiots have shot them because they were not wearing a mask. I, myself don’t wear a mask. Well, I had to go to Walmart to buy a bottle of Insulin. And I did not know if they would let me in if I did not wear one. So before I went I went to CVS and bought a two dollar one. When I got to Walmart, I took it out of its wrapper and took one strap and wrapped it around one ear and pulled it under my chin and pulled the strap around the other ear.That satisfied the letter of their law.As I walked through the cattle chute, past the gauntlet of guards[unarmed this time but they probably armed by now] we exchanged pleasantries. Bottom line I got in made my purchase and no one from the Store challenged me. But..... they are a lot of idiots out there and all of them members of the mask police force and who can tell if I encounter one or more next time?
I don’t know what’s happened to people.
When he broke his hip and had the two heart attacks last summer, the actual hospital rehab/physical therapy ran out pretty fast due to our insurance getting gutted by Obamacare.
So they stuck him in a nursing home for 3 weeks to get the rest of his PT with Medicare paying it.
Every day I went there, I got progressively more pissed.
The slunts in charge of him learned to despise me by the third day when I saw them handing him meds he was NOT supposed to be getting.

No amount of asking for the head nurse to come and straighten it out worked because she was “busy” so I tracked her sorry ass down and crowded her into a wall so she had no choice but to check his charts.
Lo and behold, I was right.
He had had one and half lungs full of fluid and was on heavy diuretics but only getting TWO cups of water a day, which he had to beg for and wait for for, forever.
The next night, I fired his “doctor” [quack] at 3AM and threatened abuse lawsuits via the 800 advocacy numbers listed on their own bulletin board.

That day after, ‘suddenly’ the whole staff fell over themselves to get us a “care quality meeting” stat.
When they came in and sat down, I stood up and said “You all know why I’ve called you here today”, thereby taking command of the mess.
The last two weeks, they couldn’t do enough for him.
Every time I came in the double doors and stomped down the hall [I stomp a lot] there was nervous silence, because they knew if I found one damn thing out of place, there would be bloody hell to pay.
While I was in there with him, they made a show of popping in every few minutes, asking if he needed anything.
However, 90% of the poor soul marooned in that pit had no one like me to speak for them and the way they were treated was abominable.
When I got a chance, I ‘made suggestions’ for some of them too.
I despise cruelty and the abuse of helpless things, no matter the species so anyone who thinks I have “no heart” can GFT.
I am SO sorry about your mom.
He still has issues due to “pump head” from the triple bypass 10 years ago.
His frequent lapses may drive me crazy but I’ll be damned if I let anyone mess with him for it.
And no, I am not a bad ass or one ‘mander wrecking crew and I’m honestly puny and feeble myself BUT what I lack in physical strength I more than make up for with sheer crazy and no regard for myself.

Unless, of course. you have some medical problem that made it more risky for you to wear the mask properly than not.
Walmart is the home of the Chinese virus as it for most things Chinese.
In Maryland, the mask policies jump like frogs on a hot griddle.
One day, masks, the next no masks, the next, maybe a mask, if the store minds or not.
