They were just reported that day, they didn’t occur then . The Health Dept has been going through old death records and reclassifying them. They released a statement about this the other day.

That doesn’t explain why they were doing this (people with you-like symptoms who were never tested, for example) but I suspect it’s about the money.

20 days ago Florida had their peak number of daily new cases.

Now, 20 days later, the number of daily deaths should be and appears to be peaking.

No surprise at all.

It was my understanding that a past Covid positive test would be listed as one of the factors in reporting deaths to the DOH for their status reports on Covid numbers.

I don’t know whether a past positive test would mean reporting the the virus as a significant condition when certifying the death as stated in CDC guidelines.

I wonder what is making Florida the number one in deaths for all these days? The US total death rate might be establishing a new trend upwards. Not cooperating at all with Trump’s attempt to get re-elected.

I hate to say it but this might be evidence that the shut down was working. I still it is insane to shut down the economy for so few deaths. 600,000 die every year to heart conditions.

That changes my analysis completely then and frankly makes looking at the 7 day moving average almost completely useless.

The death certificate form has multiple locations for listing different bit of information. Things like the immediate cause of death, the underlying cause of death, and so on. If COVID-19 was present, but not part of the sequence of events leading directly to death, it would be listed in Part II.

This is ridiculous. What the hell are people doing that they are getting 9,000 in case it’s a day? At first I thought it was the protests but there are no young people among these deaths or hospitalizations.

I’m 86 and beginning to be double glad that I haven’t seen a doctor since last Nov. Haven’t been tested and haven’t even had a cold. So far I can’t be used to increase the stats of C0V19.

But who is this fool who’s risking prison time and a loss of license to forge medical records and official government documents?

Yep. Around two weeks ago FL’s curve of daily deaths had a subtle change of inflection that has since become more obvious. Daily deaths continued to increase but the rate of increase noticeably started to decrease. The same thing happened in Alabama, Texas, and California around the same time. It looks like daily deaths in these states may be nearing a peak. Can’t wait to start seeing some decisive downhill slopes.

“20 days ago Florida had their peak number of daily new cases.

Exactly. The increase in deaths is closely tracking 3 weeks behind cases. What is interesting is that the death increase is maybe a third of what it should be for that number of cases. It shows you that many of the new cases are due to increased testing and younger ages testing positive.

The number of deaths should level off at the end of this week.

So much of public health receives grant funding based on research that the chance of skewing results for favorable outcomes for funding makes me highly suspect of the results. It’s the same old adage...follow the money. Another aspect is PH officials see things through the “science” lens...many people say “trust the science”...well science is nothing more than a hypothesis proven through research. However, we see hypotheses previously proven “through research” debunked everyday as new information becomes available... and since they only see things through that lens, other aspects of “real life” (economy, people making a living, risk management) are ignored. We can do-exist with this virus. It’s lethality is limited to a very small percentage of the population.
