Just because a mfg makes sunglasses doesn’t mean they are safe for eye protection from lasers. The headline is stupid. The article was clear. The purchase was for laser PPE

“The headline is stupid.”

It’s from Willamette Week, what were you expecting?

Have you ever heard of Google ? You can research those brands easily and see they sell laser safe eyeware.

Wiley X and ESS are just a few companies that have huge contracts for military grade eye protection

The Army even has a site that specifies what eyeware meets the standard set my the military. If they don’t meet the standard, you can’t wear them on duty.

I should know, I’m the guy who has to enforce those rules.
