What Made Asia’s Largest Slum a Success Model for Treating COVID-19? Answer: A combination of Hydroxychloroquine, vitamin, and zinc tablets along with homeopathic medicines.

On July 9, 2020 Asia’s biggest and densest slum shocked the world by announcing just one new positive COVID-19 case despite being a cluster and hotspot.

Dharavi is no ordinary slum. It is one of the densest in the world, housing more than a million people. It provided some of the background for the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire.

Dharavi contains pockets where as many as 650,000 people are crammed into 2.5 square kilometers. In comparison, New York City has only around 95,605 people for 2.5 square kilometers.

India feared the worst when a cluster outbreak of COVID-19 was reported in Dharavi. It could have become the biggest COVID-19 disaster zone in the world. But by using proactive measures, Dharavi contained the virus.

Media around the world, like the Los Angeles Times, have reported the success. Even the World Health Organization praised Dharavi.

Reports credit the huge turnaround to various factors. Most focused on Dharavi’s use of widespread testing and contact tracing. One is the use of an anti-malarial drug. But they ignored the policy most responsible. Indian doctors used Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) for prophylaxis (preventive) treatment -- the same drug the American media have politicized.

Dharavi’s COVID-19 infection rate dropped drastically from April through June. In July, new infections were very low, almost reaching zero on July 9.

Officials have credited this turnaround to “A combination of hydroxychloroquine, vitamin, and zinc tablets along with homeopathic medicines.”

HCQ has been widely used across India to treat early-stage COVID-19. It is also prescribed for prophylaxis among those who have come into contact with people who have tested positive.

In India, HCQ has always been legal. The government’s official COVID-19 task force, the Indian Council of Medical The ICMR guidelines recommend prophylactic use of HCQ

Completely off target. But, this is a video on the slum kids playing golf, and how one of them almost made it. It’s a really good insight into the slum kids way of thinking and values.

Imagine how high the flu death rate would be if you counted the flu the same way.

Homeopathic?

Seriously- these people think you can add some chemical to water, then keep adding water until the concentration is practically nothing, and think the water magically retains the properties of the chemical.

But I agree about the HDQ. It is cheap, and safe- it’s been used for decades. They should give everyone a preventative dose.

More importantly, they should do a database search of anyone that is currently using HDQ (for any reason) and see if any of them caught COVID. That would be incredibly useful information, don’t you think?

However, he gives no credit to the importance of also using zinc, and we don’t know if he also uses zinc. Why is that, maybe this link can give some ideas as to why. The link explains how many governors have forbidden the use of HCQ. In the early days this was explained as needed to save this drug for people who were already taking in regularly for various conditions. Later in the article we are told that our Strategic National Stockpile now has almost 50 million doses which have been contributed by various drug companies. Also the article does not have much to say about zinc although it does give HCQ credit for being useful while pointing out some inadequacies of Remdesivir, and conflict of financial interest of some NIH scientists.

I have read your Vitamin D3 link. Unfortunately, they consider a blood test level above 20ng/mL as adequate, but most of the people committed to recommending D3, talk about levels of 50 or 70 and even somewhat higher as optimum.

I have found the claums of homeopathy a bit hard to swallow. On the other hand I have also found it hard to believe the tiny amount of peanut or other items that can cause a fatal allergic reaction. Yet that does seem to be the case and look how much schools and other places spend to prevent a serious accident.

That is a really good point- I will look into that further.

I knew a guy who was so sensitive to peanuts he could tell just by walking into a room if there was peanut butter present.

BUT that is the body’s reaction to the tiny amount- not a glass of water’s ‘memory’ of having a chemical in it. I would like to see them do a homeopathic peanut butter in water test and see if a person reacts.

If you keep adding water to a solution of a chemical, a memory is not retained, the number of atoms of the chemical become fewer and fewer, but there still are a few left. That is why terms such as parts per billion are used, meaning one or more atoms of the chemical versus a billion of the water.

Ping as per your request.

BTW, if you want to do a search, ALL of my related posts on the subject will have “Hydroxychloroquine” as the keyword.

I was told years ago by a nurse to take Vitamin D but be sure it is Vitamin D3, not just plain Vitamin D.

Have you found that recommendation also?

The Vitamin D you find in most multivitamin pills are usually Vitamin D3. I'm taking Centrum Silver for Men 50+ vitamin pills once per day at least since March 2020.
