Major League Baseball came out in defense of players who knelt during the national anthem on Monday evening, taking on critics and tweeting in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. As Breitbart News reported, several members of the San Francisco Giants took a knee during the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner during a preseason game hosted by the Oakland Athletics before an empty stadium filled with cardboard cutouts. You can still do that..recognise that a lot of this is going to be forced on players like drew brees..and just put the politics aside for 9 innings. Of course you will have to listen to announcers talk about it

I quit major league sports including baseball back when overpaid (aka rich) players started charging little boys and some girls I suppose fee’s for their signatures at signing events. Their core values changed. They no longer played the sport for sports sake and started acting like greedy capitalist pigs. They ruined the sport for me.
Technically, sure.
But they have sucked all of the joy and wonder out of the game.
The little boy walking around Cooperstown awe-struck at the living history before him.
All of the classic moments he has seen in his life, the heartbreaks and the elation.
The beauty of a game where nothing much happens for 20 or thirty minutes, all of a sudden a spectacular double-play, or a mammoth home run, or a play (and crash) at the plate.
THAT game has been destroyed.
Oh sure, we can still watch or listen - but not to THAT game. It's now a relic of the past.

The cheating scandal got to me. Oh sure..its happened all along in sports
.but i rooted for that clown and his backstory..the one that wouldnt let players touch his shirt because..ahem..his wife.
I channel surfed past a soccer game from Turkey and...you guessed it, a Black Lives Matter protest on the field.
This madness has swept the globe.
Will the cardboard fans have to follow social distancing and wear masks? :-)

Former Yankee great Don Mattingly was an interesting exception, from what I’ve heard. He made a number of paid appearances at card/memorabilia shows, but then the organizers stopped inviting him after a while. It turns out he was so generous in signing his autograph for free outside the shows that the collectors couldn’t make any money on it. LOL.
