#BREAKING: President Trump says federal government may "take over cities" to combat rising crime: "Numbers are going to be coming down even if we have to go and take over cities."
(Excerpt) Read more at twitter.com ...
that’s the dog whistle the left was looking for...
No one talking about how these cities ‘let the criminals’ out of prison or jail to “stove the pandemic.”
Here we go you guys... it’s freedom loving patriots (soon to be known as fascists) against the marxists.
We need to be coming down hard on the heads of these Mayors and Governors. It’s time to remove them from office either through recalls or shame them out.
>>>>>>>>>>Meanwhile, hell never do it.
Nor should he. I wish he’d stop spouting off this kinda stuff.
And unconstitutional. Would you like some Democrat president taking over Jacksonville or Fort Worth or Miami on a whim?
I hear an agree with you. That said, its going to be a challenging problem to implement a working solution to. It will requires cajones not seen of late in our country.
For federal forces or troops to come into cities and restore order you usually need the local authorities consent and cooperation. Obviously that is no longer guaranteed. The elected politicians who disavow their oath of office in favor of their anarchist strategy, who also hold the strings of local police, need to be perp walked out of office before local authorities will believe they are working for a government that supports them and not the rioters.
My point of view is irrelevant.
The Insurrection Act has narrow limits on when a president can do that, the invitation of the governors/mayors being one of them.
Whatever Trump does with the military internally, it cannot be seen as Trump using the military for political reasons. Imagine a President Pelosi with such a power.
He doesn't have the authority. So why is he claiming he does?
And WE need to make sure they do own the problem, since they created the problem. We have to hold their feet to the fire too, not just Trump. WE have to start speaking up and demanding our Rights, our Protection, and our Expectations.
Trump cannot be doing all the heavy lifting ...he’s not only signaling them all issues are local...he is signally us too.
Even when that substantive action violates the Constitution?
It isn’t viable, it wouldn’t work, and leftist leaders need to stop the mobs in their cities.
That said, good people should be prepared to protect themselves and their property.
Neighborhood Defense Associations are the future.
They have, however, pushed to ‘reform the medical profession’, reform the police department (and now to defund them), reform gun laws, reform the financial markets, reform banks, reform university entrance examinations, reform the churches, reform the military, etc. etc.
It is good to know that Olympia is that bad.
Someone really needs to pin a copy of the tenth amendment to Trumps bathroom wall. That way he can read it before he tweets stupid shit he cannot do.
Disruption in the cities is up to the cities and the governors. Trump cannot send in troops until and unless they are in a state of rebellion. We are a long way away from that.
Does it dawn on Trump that stupid shit like this only fuels the fire. He has accomplished so much good stuff. Why focus on the inane.
Question for all....
If you believe Trump should send in the Guard and/or do what it takes to put down the liberals and their liberal rebellions, then it stands to reason that you also believe Trump should send MILLIONS of FEMA dollars to Minneapolistan, CHOP, Atlanta and other hell holes.
To which we conservatives say.... HELL NO.
If by 'they' you are referring to state and local law enforcement then yes, they can do something about it. If you are referring to the federal government then no, they don't have the authority unless requested by the governor of the state.
He has every damn authority to do this hey dumb ass we are under attack or you to stupid to know that
Speak for yourself. I don't want him to do this.
And I have news for you: HE DOESN'T WANT TO DO IT, EITHER.
He's spent more than three years struggling even to maintain control of his own cabinet. Why the hell would he want the U.S. government to be managing cities that are terminally dysfunctional?
The good news is that President Trump is smart enough to know that the best way to go about NOT doing something he doesn't want to do ... is to post a Twitter message that says he DOES want to do it. This is guaranteed to get all the inept jackasses in charge of these cities to oppose him.
You need evidence for this? Just ask yourself this question: If the Trump administration had any interest in taking over these fouled-up cities, then why did they deny the request for $500 million in FEMA aid from the governor of Minnesota to help pay recovery costs in the Minneapolis war zone?
He said that shortly after taking office about Chicago. And nothing. Zip. Nada.
This puts the spot-light on Democratic Crime wave cities.
Trump’s rhetoric can get ahead of the Constitution, but his actions never do.
