With FEMA aid to rebuild from riots denied, Minnesota looks elsewhere

As Minnesota leaders pondered their next steps, it's not yet clear what other sources of funds they may tap.

Denied federal aid to help rebuild burned-out, vandalized businesses in the wake of riots that followed George Floyd’s killing, Minnesota leaders pondered their next steps Saturday.

But it’s not yet clear what other sources of funds they may tap.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on Friday denied Gov. Tim Walz’s request for nearly $16 million in aid to help rebuild and repair structures in Minneapolis and St. Paul, many of them left in ruins by the riots and fires that erupted during protests of Floyd’s May 25 death while in Minneapolis police custody.

On July 2, Walz had asked President Donald Trump to declare a “major disaster” for the state of Minnesota in his request to FEMA. More than 1,500 buildings were damaged by fires, looting and vandalism, racking up more than $500 million in damages, according to Walz. The $16 million would have been used to reimburse local governments for debris clearing, repair and rebuilding costs.

In a prepared statement, FEMA said Saturday that after “a thorough review,” the agency determined “that the impact to public infrastructure is within the capabilities of the local and state governments to recover from.”

On Saturday, Walz’s spokesman, Teddy Tschann, said the governor had little to add to his Friday statement expressing disappointment with FEMA’s denial. Tschann said Walz is considering appealing the decision, which he has 30 days to do.

Minneapolis and St. Paul can borrow the money from Seattle.

My hope is that every Never Trumper, Neocon, Prissy Christian, Country Cluber, Chamber of Communists, and all RINO’s of any other yellow stripe might look at this and realize no one but President Trump would have made this decision to protect the American taxpayers.

So the City of Minneapolis, the State of Minnesota (I’m talking about you, Walz and Ellison) and the state’s congressional delegation, eggs on the rioters, and cheers for Burn, Loot, and Murder. And after all the damage is done, they all whine about all the damage is Trump’s fault. I lived in the sh!+hole of Minnesota for 10 years, in Eagan. I reached the conclusion that the people in that state were stuck in junior high. Arrested development. I may have been too kind with that assessment. Maybe more that of an out of control five year old child blaming others and gaslighting.

I have lost all respect for the state, to the point where I don’t want to do business there even professionally. That includes a certain manufacturer of instrumentation used in refineries.

Nope. The locals burned down the city, the local government encouraged it, the locals can pay for it. Maybe next time they won’t torch their town or elect feckless idiots.

Apply to George Soros.

Get Acorn, ANTIFA and BLM to pay ?

Buahahahahahaha !

Minneapolic has become the new asshole of the world, tnaks to the Mayor of Minneapolis and the Governor. Both Democrat wimps who should not even be in office because of their weakness.

The Minnesota National Guard should have been called in, day 1 of the riots.

Now their city is no longer a city. Its a gulag.Avoid Minneapolic like the plague and surrender it to Ilhan Omar and her Somali immigrant radicals. Omar and her Obama immigrant gang have made sure Minneapolis has become Mogadishu.

Tear down the USA !( sarc.)

The DNC sponsored the riots. Let them pay for it.

What gets me is the gall that these officials have. Refuse to address the happenings in your state and just expect the rest of Americs to pony up the dollars. Good for FEMA rejecting their request.
