July 2 (Reuters) - Florida shattered records on Thursday when it reported over 10,000 new coronavirus cases, the biggest one-day increase in the state since the pandemic started, according to a Reuters tally.

Florida, with 21 million residents, has reported more new daily coronavirus cases than any European country had at the height of their outbreaks.

.... I really don't care about the increase in cases .... That's just the numbers due to testing ..... I only want to know how many people have been admitted to the hospital "FOR" COVID .... Not ... "WITH" COVID ..... There is a difference.

.... If you are admitted to the hospital for a broken leg and are given the mandatory COVID-19 Test and test positive ..... you will be admitted "WITH" the Virus and will take up a Hospital Bed.

.... If you are admitted to the hospital because you have COVID-19 symptoms and are given the mandatory COVID-19 Test and test positive ..... you will be admitted "FOR" the Virus and will also take up a Hospital Bed.

I always thought that would make a great scam. Sell “End of the world” insurance - nobody could ever collect on the policy.

This dramatic increase in cases in many areas is unnatural in viral transmission. The protests, riots and lootings in major cities and smaller communities can account for some of this increase. But all of this at the same time in former lower covid case counts areas is questionable. Of course we have seen miss counting and manipulation of the numbers. I wonder how many petri dishes and test tubes Falci and friends have distributed.s/ I still believe there are folks trying to spread the disease for political gain. Too many at the same time in too many different places at the same time... it is not natural transmission.

First Arizona and now Florida, in the middle of summer, when they claimed earlier that the southern states have fewer cases because of the warmer temperatures?

Something is very phony here.

It’s not phony, not worth shutting the economy down but again sure as heck not phony.

You probably have better data from palm coast south. I would be interested in what you know about the Upper I-4 corridor (Halifax . Adventist)

In North Florida, we have a lot more cases apparently, however not much in terms of increase vent numbers. The metric I am using is vent capacity. Over the last 7 days the number of CoVID vented patient remains stable +/-1 one case.

It appears that while there are more hospitalizations, few are transitioning to critical care

According to the most recent dashboard from today — in NE Florida ICU bed capacity remains stable, CoVID vent usage is stable at 8.8%. There are 12 CoVID on vent which is down from 14 two days ago and minimal changes in the overall ICU composition.

I will watch closely this dashboard over the next several days.

ADHealth is just over 500 spread across 3 hospitals in the last week. CentraCare reporting serious numbers (Not sure if positive are admin though). Problem is a a significant percentage of admins are prone and not exactly in the 50-75 range, lower in age and have not seen anything like this before in the summer before (Not just the flubro). Physicians have a better grasp to deal with symptoms though hence prone position which helps apparently.

Here in FL, my wife was all “10 THOUSAND, OMG, OMG, EVERYTHING WAS OPENED TOO SOON” My response was “How many dead??” “HAS TO BE MANY, OMG”
My response “ Sadly, 45. Sad for the 45; sadly for the Panicdemic people, 45.”
This is still the first wave. We have Flattened the curve. Wear your mask if you want, or not. Be careful, or not. Be more careful crossing the street; people wearing masks in the car can’t see all that well.

Wherever they have beds available. It’s the most reasonable thing to do.

Facebook so it’s hearsay/anecdotal but I would like to see a verified case of this done. I’m sure it’s happening.

Florida’s death rates are still very low. This is mostly the young getting it - people who will recover - because a lot of them flocked to crowded bars.

Who cares? The important data is hospital and ICU occupancy

The numbers were bogus for 3 days before the report, and that is why there was a spike...rumor has it.

Exactly just more bullshit scare tactics, infectious or simply antibodies from an asymptomatic infection the person has recovered from. The reason they don’t differentiate is because the truth doesn’t fit the agenda.

Plenty of space to set up make-shift facilities down in SF, issue becomes labor numbers. Many of those who are "labled" nonessential are used for testing/logistic purposes. If they are pulled, those testing areas dry up.

For the idiots who think this is nothing, again, its something (Not enough to shut the economy down) that is a threat if admins pile up.

Put on some tin foil and understand certain areas are getting PTs that need hospitalizations due to this virus.
