Have a friend who crashed into the same wall - simply being a white male PhD foreclosed his ability to get into academia in his field 30+ years ago. Colleges/universities just weren’t hiring his “type”.

It isn’t just hard sciences.
I was not hired for an Assistant Professor position in a Philosophy department because I had the wrong gender, skin color and cultural background. So, instead of getting someone who would have taught Introduction Philosophy classes the right way they got a woman who made students read theatrical works like “The Vigina Dialogs” in a philosophy class.
“Systemic racism” is dog-whistle for “Kill Whitey.”

Any “science” that includes protests ain’t science.
STEM fields include academic work at universities and technical work in corporations such as IT work. Both of these are now dominated by democrats and socialists. So this is just one more thing the democrats are systemically racist at.

Like the Climate Change scientist .... when you dig into it you determine that most of them are not scientists of any kind. I suspect that if you investigate the “scientists” will have degrees that end in “studies”.
