IMHO they should have just taken his aside and told him to go home.

That said, the proper response was to arrest his geezery butt and let him spend a night in the klink.

FWIW, the video doesn't show excessive force. Yes, they guy was pushed backwards but it was apparent his feet couldn't keep up with his momentum.........He shouldn't have been there.
Word is he was using an app that would spoof the police radios so he can jam them later. He has a history as a “peace activist”, in other words a commie.
