A Vote-by-Mail Nightmare: Trump or Biden by a whisker, with a million ballots thrown out.

...

In 2016 almost a quarter of votes were carried by the post, according to the federal Election Assistance Commission. But roughly 1% of submitted absentee ballots were rejected. About half of the time, the voter’s signature was missing or didn’t match the John Hancock on file. Another quarter of these ballots arrived after the deadline. All in all, 319,000 votes were thrown out.

Black and Hispanic mail voters in Florida had rejection rates in 2018 that were twice as high: 2% and 2.1%, compared with 0.9% for whites, according to a study by the state chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union. In several counties the minority rejection rates passed 3% or 4%. Among first-time voters, 3.1% of ballots were thrown out. That call is often made by local officials, who are simply eyeballing the voter’s signature against the version on record.

Some states allow voters to “cure” a signature mismatch after Election Day. In Ohio they have seven days to fix the issue. It’s eight days in Colorado and 14 in Illinois. North Carolina says mail ballots are valid if they arrive three days after Election Day, provided their postmarks beat the deadline. It’s six days in Iowa and 10 in Ohio.

In 27 states, “a voter can designate someone to return their ballot,” says the National Conference of State Legislatures. This practice is often restricted to family members and caregivers, or with rules that cap the number of ballots any single person may return. Not always. “Ballot harvesting” has made news in California, where activists have canvassed neighborhoods collecting votes. The registrar in Orange County reported in 2018 that his office had “people dropping off maybe 100 or 200 ballots.”

Mail In Ballots are nothing but a total fraud. There is no possible way to validate their legitimacy. No possible way. People who cannot get to a polling place on election day should have their ballots legalized by a Notary Public and submitted by them. This can be done for servicemen, too. Those who won’t or can’t do this should simply not be allowed to vote. It was never guaranteed under the Constitution that every human being in this country should have a vote. In fact, only male property holders and other taxpayers were allowed the franchise. We should reinstate this practice with the sole addition of including females.

according to the federal Election Assistance Commission

Since voting for President is not required by the Constitution, and since appointment of Electors is an exclusive power of State Legislatures, someone needs to take a look at the proliferation of Commissions, laws, and regulations that attempt to impose Federal power by all 3 branches over the selection of the President and Vice President, which are exclusively State functions.

Do you really suppose the Founders would have granted the Federal government authority over the process of their potential replacements?

People who can't vote on Election Day at a polling place monitored by law enforcement and representatives of any parties on the ballot just should not be allowed to vote. Period.

The only truth here is that Trump might actually take say Illinois “by a whisker.” The enthusiasm spread must be HUGE. Tim Scott may have let it slip out the other day when he said it was 53 to [I think he said 27 but it definitely was not more than 30] Joey Fingers numbers just went down again with his “aint Black” comment.

Is a person’s race part of voter registration? Or are the statistics quoted in this article estimates by zip code or some other data characteristic?

The sooner we stop sorting data by race, the sooner the United States of America might Become a united country again. Some medical data should be sorted by race just in case race has an effect on it. Otherwise we should be individuals living in freedom.

It’s pretty obvious why Pelosi wants stimulus funds steered towards the US Postal Service, isn’t it?

I've never seen it. The only way I could guess they would have it is by tying it back to a driver's license. But that gets back to a photo ID for voting which the Dems hate.

The sooner we stop sorting data by race, the sooner the United States of America might Become a united country again.

I'm waiting for the Census worker to come by my house to "correct" my form because, once again, I didn't fill out the racial information. If more people just refused to answer racial questions on all forms we would be better off.

Exactaundo. Take a look at the normal rate (non election) of non-delivery of first class mail. When ballots are in easily identified envelopes, votes from, lets say Waukesha County will get lost or destroyed, while those from Milwaukee County will get delivered.

Don't trust the US Postal Service.

More than 300 Butler County ballots delivered late won't count in Ohio primary.

Votes were mailed in time with proper postmark, but delivered late.

Around here in Beavercreek, Ohio (Greene County), it is ofter faster to go to the Mom and Pop post office in Alpha (also Greene County) to mail something to a Beavercreek address, because the Beavercreek post office is want to ship mail to Columbus (formerly Dayton) and have it come back to Beavercreek.

ILLINOIS provided a sure way to see that EVERY ballot is counted. One of the provisions in the mail-in-vote expansion bill:

A three-person panel with no more than two from one political party will review mail-in signatures and must unanimously agree on tossing a ballot.

.

Short of other methods:

ALL MAIL IN BALLOTS should INCLUDE A ‘CARBON’ COPY FOR THE VOTER so that a PAPER TRAIL outside of any suspected/potentially fraudulent counting can be generated after the fact to be used by the public to demonstrate voter fraud by our modern Stalin’s Vote Counters.

Stalin was the one who said IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT THEY VOTE - IT MATTERS WHO DOES THE COUNTING.

Included should be declarations of Punative penalties for Organized Voter Fraud which in effect is a form of Treason and which should have the HIGHEST penalties.

Just did a mail in ballot in Maryland. What I didn’t like was that our handwritten signature has to be on the outside back of the envelope for everyone to see. In this age of identity thieves - really?

Rat states seemed poised to pass and initiate voting by mail. This is voter fraud that is sanctioned and passed by state legislatures.
Can the feds refuse to accept states that use vote by mail as unconstitutional or by any other rule or mandate?

Any review of signatures on a ballot is capricious and error-prone. And if two reviewers of the three are Marxocrats then they’ll approve all Marxocrat votes and disqualify all others, Bet on it!

Because women were not allowed to vote until the 1920s. If they fulfill the property holding and taxpaying requirement today then they should be the only addition to the earlier restrictive rules.
