the future...
Like Mike Tyson said “everyone’s got a plan until they get hit”
Not a smart thing to take on the US military
I did read that Russia has a 200 megaton nuclear missile positioned in the ocean to cause a wave of 1000 to 1500 ft that would go A thousand Miles inland when it hit the US.
Of course they would be annihilated but it is something that sounds quite difficult to defend against
Coming to a Starship near you.
Amazing. Star Wars is here, now, today.
only a five-year-old
believes any of this
ok...ill play...why do you say that?....
Now, commies, tell me again about your little hypersonic missile thingy!
How does it stack up against zero to 186,000 miles per second in 0.0000001 seconds???
At least masks seem to be the fashion of the day.
They ought to lob a couple rounds into the city of Portland while they’re at it.
I would think that you’d need a lot of energy produced to destroy an aircraft. Granted, you could pack a lot of generators on a ship but you would probably be limited to short bursts. Maybe the way they’re destroying them is by making the onboard sensors inoperable. Also you’d have to be relatively close to the target. I’m not sure if the inverse square law of light applies to lasers. Maybe a photon torpedo would be better.
how many lasers are they going to put on a ship to combat against 10 or 15 hyper-sonic missiles coming at a carrier?
As many as it takes I guess.
How do they defeat heat shields? Like an ibm would have? Or hypersonic weapon would have?
Finally. Frikin’ lasers.
Hi.
Did the article say when the 40 watt Plasma rifle will be available?
5.56mm
Nice bit of shooting. But what is our feminized, easy-life navy going to when a real enemy shoots back?
That’s about the same energy as Krakatoa - and the furthest inland would be a wave “engineered” to go up the Mississippi Valley. MAYBE 200 megatons @ the bottom of the deepest part of the Gulf of Mexico could cause such a tsunami (great depth is needed to efficiently create a really big wave when it hits the Gulf Coast), but then a “missile” doesn’t make a lot of sense. Plus it could be shot down. Now, a robot submarine, maybe, but, it takes a LOT of energy positioned just right to create a true monster tsunami. It likely makes more sense / would be much easier to inundate East Coast / West Coast cities.
FWIW, 200 megatons sounds like a lot, but, Chicxulub was approx. 20-25 MILLION times larger, and caused an “only” around 330 ft. high tsunami when it got to FL and TX. Granted that Chicxulub hit in relatively shallow water. OTOH it made a crater 62 miles wide and 19 miles deep. Quite the bang.
No. Inverse square applies to an omni-directional source.
“Of course they would be annihilated but it is something that sounds quite difficult to defend against”
Nah, easy enough. Just build a 3 inch thick x 250’high steel wall with diffuser holes spaced every 1.5 inches from Canada to our southern border.
When wave hits the diffuser holes break up the force and everything is cool.
Let DJT do it, he can build things.
Good point - this thing looks rather cumbersome at this point of development. Still, gotta work your way up...
