Wisconsin bars flooded with patrons hours after state Supreme Court strikes down coronavirus stay-at-home order

Several bars across Wisconsin were flooded with patrons just hours after the state Supreme Court issued a ruling striking down an extension of Gov. Tony Evers’ stay-at-home order that had been in effect since mid-March to limit the effect of the coronavirus.

The 4-to-3 ruling essentially reopened the state, lifting caps on the size of gatherings, allowing people to travel as they please and allowing shuttered businesses to reopen, including bars and restaurants.

Nick’s Bar in Platteville, Wis., shared a photo on Twitter with the caption: “45 minutes after the bars open in Wisconsin” showing the establishment packed with mostly young people, none of whom were wearing masks or observing social distancing.

LOL. I’m thinking that Gilligan was really a deep state actor. He always seemed to sabotage the efforts to leave.

How can these people be so selfish as to want to have a good time when it’s their civic duty to be miserable to defeat Trump? < /NYT >

Excellent meme.

Thank you. When you see it all over the internet, remember you saw it here first.

The court left it open for the legislature to decide instead of the governor. That is the way it should be.

I used to live a couple miles south of New Glarus, on Route 69, on the Stauffacher farm - about 1967 or so.

Solid Swiss country. Went to the William Tell Festival regularly for several years.

All those emergency edicts issued to keep the medical services from being overwhelmed have proven to be overkill. Hospitals have become ghost towns and are going broke.

Time to let people have a say in this. The stated emergency has passed. No more one person decrees. If restrictions are to be imposed they should be done through the regular legislative process.

Cheeseland has been liberated!

Where’s the cumulative list of fully open states?

That’s one graphic Big Media won’t want us to track.

When is our President going to declare that America is free again? Every passing day, hundreds of thousands of fresh lives are destroyed.

That governor looks like he would be hand picked by a movie director to be the guy who has a giant sack of flour and a vat of tomato sauce fall on his head during a chase scene

No more New Glarus Beer for me. The owner posted on Facebook that she supported the shutdown and called those who opposed it very filthy names which I cannot repeat in mixed company.

There are so many other Breweries around here that I would rather support and their beer is just as good.

Here is the circle jerk we are experiencing, The 5,10,15 20 stage reopening plan by the rat governors are based on the numbers, these numbers are coming form hospital administrators who are over seen by the state health commissioner who is appointed by the governor. They can skew these numbers at will and stop the state form opening up, and this is exactly what they are doing
